WORLD ROUTES AIRLINE BRIEFINGS Crowd S

>>> Airports jumped at the chance to get the inside track at the Airline Requirement Briefi ngs.
paces at Malaysia Airlines’ fi rst Airline Requirement Briefi ng at this year’s World Routes in Vancouver had to be limited due to the “overwhelming response” received at its fi rst briefi ng at Routes Asia in Adelaide in April earlier this
year, a senior network planner told Routes News. “Due to the overwhelming response to our fi rst Airline Requirement Briefi ng in Adelaide the organisers had to limit the numbers of attendees in Vancouver. There was a good mix of attendees, some were from existing destinations, while others were new,” said Liew Chee Khuan, senior manager of Network Development and Research at Malaysia Airlines. This year’s event marked the fi rst time that Airline Requirement Briefi ngs have been held in chalets in the Networking Village with a formal presentation to an audience followed by a Q&A session. Khuan said the briefi ng, which highlighted the fl ag carrier’s growth and fl eet renewal plans, had proved to be a helpful place in which to reach airports.
“It is also a good platform to network with interested parties. Given the dynamic and fl uid nature of the business, the ability to fi nd common ground to enhance value delivery to passengers is a win-win situation for both airlines and airports,” he added.

Malaysia Airlines’ Germal Singh Khera, general manager government and industry relations, led the carrier’s Airline Requirement Briefi ng and also sat on the GASS panel.
The presentation was followed by a lively Q&A session, during which airport representatives asked a host of questions. Khuan said the airline would “certainly” consider hosting an Airline Requirement Briefi ng again.
Malaysia Airlines was one of 10 airlines to host an Airline Requirement Briefi ng during World Routes, a number which included a mix of budget carriers including Ryanair and Jetstar and full service carriers such as such as KLM and Etihad Airways.
