RECOMMENDED: PAC-MAN PARTY

THE MAN, the mouth, the legend. Pac-Man has been one of gaming’s key icons ever since he first hit the arcades back in 1980. As Pac-Man turns 30 years old, Namco Bandai is celebrating in style with Wii mini-game collection Pac-Man Party.

Up to four players can roll the dice and traverse across a series of virtual boards akin to Mario Party and Wii Party, with a selection of mini-games at the end of each round. It’s a casual experience that Namco Bandai says has broad appeal. UK product manager Blaise

Rodier tells MCV: “This party is packed with non-stop action for one and all – from nostalgic gamers to kids who are new to Pac-Manfever.”

PARTY PAC

The game features more than 45 mini-games and time-based trials such as racing, eating and even rolling a giant snowball in order to knock other players off a mountain. There are also precision-based and endurance events such as curling, tennis and golf.

This party is for everyone, from nostalgic gamers to kids who are new to Pac-Man fever.

Pac-Man Partyalso takes a leaf out of Monopoly’s book, whereby players can develop property on any given space on the board to earn money. Power Cookies can be used to level the playing field – giving players the power to increase their character’s size, speed or power. With a marketing campaign planned (see ‘Pac Attack’), a casual- friendly party experience and the iconic Pac-Man brand behind it, Pac-Man Partyhas a strong opportunity to stand out among other top gifting titles this Christmas.
