Mastertronic’s distribution arm has seen success both digitally and with boxed product. Dominic Sacco talks to MD Andy Payne about its achievements, how its digital distribution platform is performing and scope for the future
HAVING a publishing and distribution service under one roof comes with its advantages – and ones that The Producers have seen
first hand.
The firm was established in 1998 and merged with budget PC games label Sold Out in 2004, forming Mastertronic. Since then it has grown substantially, expanding its marketing team and even launching a PC digital distribution platform late last year.
Get Games is a joint venture between The Producers and Eurogamer. Codemasters, Ubisoft, 2K Games and more have all signed deals with the digital download service, which allows consumers to buy and download titles including
Football Manager 2011, Mafia IIand Civilization Vto name a few. “Sales are growing exponentially month-on-month and we are really excited by this project,” says Mastertronic and The Producers MD Andy Payne.
