Green Man Gaming now requires a highly talented and experienced marketing professional to head up their Marketing department. This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to join a rapidly growing company and play a key role in ensuring the ongoing success of the firm.
Reporting directly to the COO, the successful applicant will be key to the growth of Green Man Gaming - attracting new customers, engaging existing customers, working with our marketing partners and sourcing new partners.
Role responsibilities The role will include the following key areas of responsibility: • Develop multi-channel strategies to grow the Green Man Gaming franchise and drive sales. • To create and implement integrated marketing campaigns to build the Green Man Gaming brand and drive traffic.
• To coordinate with and mobilise key internal stakeholders – within Buying, Content and Customer Support and Technical departments - to ensure campaigns are delivered with excellence and impact.
• Create and manage the ongoing retail promotion programme and oversee the development of the required assets for the site. • Identify and engage affiliate partners, fostering the relationships to grow them both as sources of revenue and memberships. • Manage marketing services agencies to deliver the required results against clearly defined briefs. • Measure and evaluate marketing activity against the ROI delivered. • Generate marketing analysis for the senior management team.

Professional skills • Proven marketing skills and experience in setting strategy as well as developing and implementing promotions that have driven business growth. • A solid understand of the key drivers of digital retail and be able to apply them in order to maximise revenue.
• Capable of managing and getting the best performance from external agencies. • Strong relationship building and negotiation skills. • Experience of the video game retail landscape is essential. • Good numerical/analytical skills. • Strong interpersonal and communicational skills with a partner/customer centric attitude.
Personal skills
• A self-starter with a positive “can do” attitude to challenges and able to work under minimal supervision and guidance. • High energy with drive and focus. • Track record of being a team player. • Keen attention to detail.
Additional information

Salary Green Man Gaming is offering the successful candidate a salary of between £35 - £45k plus options and bonus, depending upon experience.

Miller joins Samvo
Online gaming firm hires former Namco Bandai exec Mike Kebby leaves Sony for Sega Green Man Gaming names new content and customer support manager
SAMVO l DAVID MILLER has taken up the role of senior marketing executive at Samvo.
The company specialises in online gaming and gambling and has hired Miller to drive the marketing for its upcoming website revamp.
He leaves his position as marketing director at Namco Bandai Partners and boasts more than 15 years of experience in the industry, having held positions at Capcom, Virgin and Electronic Arts. “Egaming is an industry I have been watching for some time. It is a vibrant, innovative and burgeoning sector and reminds me of the early years of my video
games career,” said Miller.
“There is a lot of crossover in people’s online gaming habits, whether gambling or just for fun. I am delighted to be a part of the team here at Samvo and excited about the challenge of launching an exceptional new product into such an exciting marketplace.” Samvo GM YAN TANG added: “I am delighted to have David on board to lead the marketing charge into 2011 and beyond.”
SEGA l MIKE KEBBY has joined the publisher’s UK team as digital campaigns manager. He will be working Sega’s digital titles, such as the remaining episodes of Sonic The Hedgehog 4. Kebby leaves his last position on Sony’s PlayStation Store team, where he was responsible for store marketing, promotions, merchandising, liasing with publishers and developers, and regularly updating the EU PlayStation Blog. In his last post, he wrote: “It’s still hard for me to believe my time at
PlayStation is coming to a close. It has been a pleasure being here, and [I wish] all the best for the future to PlayStation, the staff here and, of course, you the community.”
GREEN MAN GAMING l MARTIN SNELLING has been hired as content and customer support manager. He was previously online community manager at Sega, and held similar web-centric positions at Amazon, including editor, category manager and content site merchandiser. He has also worked with Sky TV, Powerhouse PR and Virgin Megastore, serving as software buyer at the latter. “Martin brings with him a vast amount of online experience within the video games industry,” said Green
Man Gaming’s director and co-founder DAVID CLARK. “We are delighted that he has joined the company and the fact that we are able to attract this calibre of individual clearly demonstrates the direction and ambition of Green Man Gaming.”
