Cathay Pacific’s Best Caterer 2009 Gold Award went to Taj SATS Air Catering, New Delhi. Charles Grossrieder, the airline’s head of inflight catering, stressed that it isn’t easy to be recognised as the best amongst a global network of 46 caterers. Also present were Francis Sengol, Taj SATS svp operation, gm Sanjeev Gujra, Cathay Pacific catering manager South-East Asia Karan Combs, and Delhi station manager Ashok Batra. Account executive is Naveen Kaul backed by chef Arun Batra and his team. Taj SATS Mumbai won the ANA Best Medium/

A bottle of l’Andrea by Italian wine maker Monte Vibiano, sold for 70,000 euros at a charity auction in London on Saturday September 11. It was a record auction sale for an Italian wine. The unique bottle was designed by world famous


Murano glass artist Pino Signoretto and money raised at the Pratham UK charity auction will be devoted to promote educational projects for underprivileged children in urban and rural areas of India.

AUGUST, DRESDEN


Passengers flying through Heathrow last month were treated to the best bites of Britain including crumpets, pork pies and fish and chips to mark the airport’s first British Food Fortnight. Said Heathrow head of category for f&b, Chris Annetts: “It was great to see so many of our restaurants and retailers championing some of the nation’s best food and ingredients”.


The teams at ITCA and OnBoard Hospitality send their best wishes and support to the management and staff at Damino’s factory in Germany which was destroyed in a flood in August. The company also suffered flooding in its Czech factory.
