WHOLE- HEARTED SOUP


Owners of the popular New Covent Garden soup brand Daniels Group has a new division called the Whole- hearted Soup Company, which will produce and market a 17-strong range of 250g and 1kg packs of soup exclusively for the foodservice sector. The fresh and frozen soups range comprises seven everyday soups, including carrot and coriander, cream of mushroom, minestrone and cream of tomato; five gastro soups, like broccoli and stilton, parsnip and wholegrain mustard and seasonal variants; and five specials, including fish provencal, cauliflower cheese and Thai chicken. www.sdaniels.co.uk


GRASSHOPPER PORRIDGE


On-the-go porridge brand Grasshopper has a new flavour. Sister owners Fleur and Abi were apparently inspired by the Salt’n’ Shake crisps of their youth when they came up with the idea for a pot of plain porridge containing a sachet of organic and fairtrade sugar, allowing customers to add as much as they like. The pot retails at £1.99.

Sph’air is a new mini dish from Solia which can be used for sweet or savoury canapés. The bubble-like dish is made from clear APET plastic. Solia also has Le Mug, a food-to-go concept which can be a replacement for the traditional salad bowl. Le Mug comes in two lid options, flat or bubble, and can be re-used again and again. FLYLIGHT SELF WEIGHING BAGS


In response to low cost airlines’ additional baggage charges, FlyLight has developed an accurate way for fliers to weigh their luggage, with a self- weighing bags. The luggage has an LCD screen which tells the carrier how much it weighs as soon as they pick it up by the handle. FlyLight luggage come in sets of two, with one smaller case which specifically meets the size parameters of most European carriers carry-on luggage requirements and a larger one for storage in the hold.
