including auto-sharing matte and pho- to black inks, as well as the Epson MicroPiezoTFP print head to produce high quality prints at speeds about twice as fast as the previous generation. The Epson Stylus Pro 7890 and 9890
offer the same technology found in the Epson Stylus Pro 900-series, includ- ing spindle-free roll media loading, a roll media tracking system, front control panel with 2.5" color LCD, rotary cutter, fabric catch bin, and printer stand. The printers also feature Epson’s latest ink- repelling coating and auto nozzle verifi- cation technologies to eliminate clogged nozzles, and use nine individual high- capacity ink cartridges up to 200 ml. The printers are available with the optional Epson SpectroProofer spectro- photometer. Developed in partnership with X-Rite, the SpectroProofer is a high-performance, in-line spectropho- tometer that, when driven by the latest front-end RIPs, can automate any color management process in commercial or flexographic proofing workflows.

Screen (USA) (Booth 1637) is intro- ducing a new multiple layer function for the Truepress Jet2500UV, giving the grand-format UV inkjet device the abil- ity to print up to seven layers without feeding the media a second time. This increases its ability to print double-sid- ed window stickers and day-and-night backlit displays, along with various spe- cial effects, such as embossed graphics. Screen now offers a new corrugated cardboard guide option on the Truepress Jet2500UV. The secure substrate fix- ing system enables reliable transport of media and makes it possible to print directly onto hard-to-handle substrates. The Truepress Jet2500UV handles both flexible, roll-based materials and flat, rigid substrates. Thanks to its ver- satile printing capabilities on plastic film, sheets and board, the 98.4" wide Truepress Jet2500UV adds value to a huge array of products, including signs, billboards, vehicle wraps, posters, tran- sit advertising and exhibits.

Duplo USA Corporation (Booth
2617) is showing the DC-645 integrated folding system, which adds an in-line folder to the already versatile DC-645 slitter/cutter/creaser.
The knife folder incorporates two knife folds, making it ideal for parallel fold applications such as letter and gate folds. With a speed of up to 50 sheets per minute, the new folder matches the capa- bilities of Duplo’s creasers and can also be bypassed for no-fold applications. It also incorporates other elements, such as a cross- and straight-conveyor as well as simple and more sophisticated high capacity stackers designed to stack and retain even heavier jobs such as folded card stock. The cross-conveyor version keeps single batch outputs in sequence for applications such as photos, coupons and personalized direct mail. The modular range enables custom- ers to configure as many as 26 different arrangements to suit their requirements and match the flexibility of jobs that can be run on the Duplo range of finishers for digital color print. As a result, the DC-645 can easily handle items printed in multiple-up formats, making it suit- able for general commercial folding applications as well as sorting require- ments for sequentially printed jobs.
est version of EFI Radius, a powerful MIS/ERP designed to enable an end-to- end, intelligent and optimized manage- ment and production workflow for label, flexible packaging, converting, and fold- ing carton businesses. Radius offers a high degree of flexibility to manage the requirements of printing and packaging companies throughout all phases of the workflow, with integrated solutions for sales estimating; production planning and scheduling; materials management; shop floor data collection; job and stan- dard costing; time and attendance; and reporting and business intelligence. EFI’s is demonstrating release 12.1, which includies a new version of the Radius Business Intelligence toolset, designed to give owners, executives and managers a comprehensive, customiz- able solution for leveraging transactional data, turning it into working knowledge. The toolset utilizes a user-friendly dash- board to provide a graphical snapshot of selected operations, departments, and/ or processes—letting users build, save, recall, and modify queries on-demand. Unlike many reporting and analysis tools, the Radius business intelligence tools include a powerful “what-if” capa- bility, letting users evaluate opportuni- ties and ideas against real-world busi- ness data.
