Official Show Daily • Cygnus Graphics Media NEWPRODUCTS Digital Press Xerox Corporation (Booths 400, 600)
is showcasing the DocuColor 8002 Digital Press, developed for printing promotional materials, collateral, direct marketing and photo publishing appli- cations. The DocuColor 8002 includes low gloss toner for producing a smooth matte finish. The device also comes standard with an in-line spectropho- tometer with Automated Color Quality Suite to automate previous manual tasks such as system calibration and spot color matching. It prints at a speed of 80 ppm, producing two-sided prints at rated speed on all weights and sizes up to 300 gsm.

Fujifilm Graphic Systems Division (Booth 627, 1469) is showcasing Fuji- film Workflow XMF, an end-to-end JDF workflow solution with increased integration capabilities. Workflow XMF addresses the needs of today’s printers and the challenges of shorter print runs, increasingly complex jobs, and quick turnaround times. During GRAPH EXPO, Workflow XMF is driving the Fujifilm Digital Inkjet J Press 720. Workflow XMF is capable of cross- connectivity between a variety of print environments, including offset, digi- tal, and wide-format. The solution, a complete JDF engine, incorporates the most recent Adobe PDF Print Engine technology and is capable of achieving huge increases in RIP speed and output performance. Workflow XMF’s “pure PDF” technology means that original PDF content is preserved throughout the workflow, with instructions for pro- cesses such as imposition stored as JDF data in an associated JDF Job Bag. This clean PDF implementation requires no internal conversions or file flattening to carry out job processing. Based on open standards, Workflow XMF is designed to remain compatible with new print technologies. Its modular and scalable architecture allows users to increase capacity and productivity and expand the range of services. The work- flow solution is suitable for printers with
unveiling two new creasers, the Auto- Creaser Pro 33 and the AutoCreaser 50. Based on the original AutoCreaser, the Pro 33 is more productive, operating at up to 8,500 sheets per hour with all func- tions controlled from a new touchscreen for greater automation and ease of use. Taking a larger sheet size, the Auto- Creaser Pro 50 is a bigger version of the 33 and also offers increased productivity at 8,500 sph. Both machines also incor- porate the new PosiFeed feeding system, which allows a greater pile height and improved feeding of difficult stocks. The Morgana AutoFold Pro is a free- standing unit with a vacuum feed con- veyor that is adjustable in height. This means that it will work with any creaser, not just Morgana models, to create a combined creasing and folding station. Once in position and the power on both machines turned on, the sheets are deliv- ered straight to the conveyor for folding at speeds up to 6,500 sph.
Speciality Fine Papers
GPA Specialty Substrates Solutions
(Booth 129) is debuting an addition to its collection of Specialty Fine Papers, Ultra Digital Specialty Color Cover Papers for HP Indigo presses. Avail- able in four colors, they are the perfect complement to HP Indigo’s white ink technology. The new color selection includes Pumpkin Orange, Apple Red, Navy Blue, and Chocolate Brown. They are stocked and readily available in a 110-lb. basis weight in 18.25x12.5" sheets. HP Indigo-certified, they offer crisp image reproduction, exceptional ink adhesion and a uniform surface for consistently beautiful results.
Rollem (Booth 624) is highlighting its dual-feed Champion 990, which delivers perforating, scoring, and slit- ting with the highest speed and accura- cy in a minimal amount of floor space. This system for slitting down sheets of postcards or business cards is designed for smaller shops or those not requiring a high level of automation. This unit has manual dual feeding trays making it ideal for lower volume runs. The 990 maintains accuracy while operating at speeds up to 18,000 sph. Its double head design includes two tandem shafts in perfect registration; the first head can lightly score while the second head follows with a deeper score. This reduces the chance of ink cracking, regardless of coverage, grain direction or stock weight. The Cham- pion 18" and 24"models are the most common sizes for digital finishing but wider models are also available—in sizes of 30", 36", and 42".
Spiel Associates (Booth 3044) is highlighting the Sterling S59 gatherer/ collator. The S59 handles a wide variety of jobs; it can collate sheets as thin as onion skin and as thick as ¼" pads at a rate of 6,000 sets per hour. It collates tabs, envelopes, greeting cards, and nearly anything that fits into the pockets. The stations are positioned on both sides, reducing the overall length of the machine by almost half. User friendly, all the adjustments are at the operator’s fingertips.

Xerox Corporation (Booths 400, 600)
is showing the Xerox 4112 copier/print- er with the Espresso Book Machine by On Demand Books, LLC, bringing speed and image quality to millions of digital titles in multiple languages. The Espresso Book Machine can pro- duce paperbacks in variable combina- tions of trim sizes between 4.5x5" and 8.25x10.5" for a production cost less than one cent per page. It uses Espress- Net, a software system that assures the security of publishers’ titles, tracks all jobs, and provides payments to pub- lishers while allowing content owners to retain full rights and control of their digital files. With the Xerox 4112, the Espresso Book Machine can produce a 300-page book in less than four minutes and has the capacity to print more than 40,000 paperback books per year.
Flexo Halftone Dot Screen (USA) (Booth 1637) is unveil-
ing Flexo Dot 4800, a halftone dot devel- oped for the flexo and letterpress mar- kets. Flexo Dot 4800 makes the most of Screen’s 4,800-dpi resolution imaging technology, generating extremely small, precise halftone dots to create the output
INX Digital International (Booth 2512) is highlighting the CP100 UV digital can printer, which headlines the company’s Evolve Advanced Digital Solutions brand line. The printer, for two-piece can printing and short-run cylindrical packaging, uses UV LED technology and XAAR Through-Flow Technology. Designed for short-run cylindrical printing, the CP100 produces printed aluminum cans or water bottles in minutes. The cost effectiveness of this printer makes it an interesting consid- eration for any printer looking to create specialized packaging and a new revenue stream for their business.
