WIRELESS 2MP IP VIDEO SURVEILLANCE CAMERA Toshiba Surveillance & IP Video, a business unit of Toshiba America Information, Systems Inc., unveiled its first wire- less 2-megapixel IP camera, the IK-WB16A-W. “Megapix resolution enables a single IK-WB16A-W to wirelessly capture overviews of very large indoor areas…as well as high-detail situations including close-ups on individual faces or items being checked out by a cashier,” said Toshiba’s Ser

The IK-WB16A-W supports simultaneous quad streaming of MPEG-4 and MJPEG video in a variety of resolutions. The camera features a Micro SD card slot for local storage. Toshiba is also offering a non-wireless version of the camera, equipped with PoE. Packages include free versions of Toshiba camera recording software.

VIEW ALBUM ART ON TOUCHSCREEN Home Automation Inc.’s (HAI) newest entertainment product, the Music Gate- way, is now shipping. HAI’s Music Gateway is a music server/renderer with three independent stereo channels, which opens up a customer’s music collection to the rest of his home. Homeowners can use HAI’s IP OmniTouch Touchscreens to control the Music Gateway. Album artwork plus artist, song and album title metadata can be viewed. In addition to serving music, it includes HAI’s WL3 software for remote home control access via the Internet, including Web-enabled mobile devices. WL3 also can be used to integrate IP cameras, with recording and playing capabilities based on motion, alarm or door openings.
