Cover More Area With Accessory Lens
Basler now offers Theia Technologies’ SY110 fixed focal megapixel lens as an accessory lens for use with its IP camera product line. Theia’s 1.7 mm lens pro- vides up to 110 degrees horizontal field of view (HFOV) with Basler’s box IP cam- era models BIP-640c/-dn, BIP-1000c/- dn, and BIP-1300c/-dn. This provides the opportunity to cover more area with a single camera, potentially reducing the overall cost of system ownership. Theia’s patented Linear Optical Tech- enables an image with less than

1 percent barrel distortion. By contrast, most wide angle lenses above 80 degrees horizontal field of view produce an image with noticeable levels of barrel distortion, also known as fisheye distortion. The SY110 lens is IR corrected so maintains its crisp, clear megapixel reso- lution image in IR illumination, making it a perfect accessory for Basler’s box day and night cameras, with their removable infrared-cut filter, the company said. CO Online Training Updated
Before Winter Months System Sensor updated its Car- bon Monoxide
(CO) Online Training course with new voiceover options, appealing and infor- mative visuals, and increased interactiv- ity to provide users the carbon monoxide information they need at a time and place that is most convenient for them. “We timed the release to coincide with the winter months, when carbon monoxide incidents are typically at their highest and interest in protection is most prevalent,” said Jack Ogden, System Sensor Security product man-
ager. “There’s currently a combination of increased customer interest and new state legislation and code that makes this the best time to get up to date on everything CO.” The course provides a self-training option that can enhance users’ carbon monoxide product, legislation and appli- cation knowledge for use in the field. Once users have completed the course, they have the option to take an online quiz and print a certificate to verify course completion.
