Theia Technologies announced the expansion of its line of ultra wide angle, no distortion, megapixel lenses with its new varifocal model. Theia has leveraged its patented,
award-winning Linear Optical Technology ology®
platform to offer all optical distortion correction in its new SL183 varifocal lens. Designed for 1/3 in., 1/2.7 in. and up to 1/ 2.5 in. image sensors, the lens will provide from 77 to 115 deg. horizontal field-of-view, with less than 1 percent barrel distortion. The varifocal lens will allow users more flexibility in camera placement and wide coverage of an area. In addition, the lens increases convenience with its True Zoom™ capability: set focus once and the image remains in focus while zooming. The lens does its work in a compact length of only 50mm from the CS mount, allowing it to fit in most mini domes. Theia’s lenses provide increased resolution at the edge of the image compared with other wide lenses that compress the image, losing information. The SL183 lens is IR corrected and can be used on day/ night cameras as well as on standard video cameras to focus crisply in both visible and IR light without having to re-focus the camera. Intercom functionality for OmniTouch 10pe Portable Touchscreens and OmniTouchPro interface software for third-party Windows Touchscreens is expected to be available in the fourth quarter of 2010. The VoIP Intercom is point- to-point from one OmniTouch 5.7e Touchscreen to another. Existing homeowners with OmniTouch 5.7e Touchscreens can add Touchscreen- to-Touchscreen intercom functionality with a free firmware update. managed access control software. The new release includes Web browser enhance- ments such as remote locking and unlocking, schedule creation and editing, and improved reporting capabilities. The new features also allow the flexibility for a complete dealer- hosted remote management model, or an end user-managed solution using the enhanced Web browser. It allows a dealer to reduce the initial bid cost by up to 25 percent by rolling all or a portion of the equipment and instal- lation costs into the monthly service charge.
