Strong sports betting fails to lift Entraction

igital gaming products supplierEn- traction Holdinghas reported a drop in both revenue and earnings for the second quarter of fiscal 2010, as a strong performance in the group’s betting divi- sion failed to offset a slump in its core poker operations. Across the group, net sales amounted to SEK78.4m (US$10.6m), representing a decline of 26.6 per cent on the SEK106.8m (US$14.5m) posted in the second quarter of last year. Profit after tax was down 88.4 per cent to SEK3.7m (US$500,000). Net sales in Entraction’s sports betting segment were up 311 per cent to SEK3.7m (US$500,000), due primarily to a reduction in bonuses, a successful risk management programme and early up- sets in the FIFA World Cup.
