Welcome to Louis land

Louis Vuitton’s £50m flagship store in New Bond Street is more than just a shop, it’s an experience.

Even if you’re not much into bags, Louis Vuitton’s new London flagship store is a must see. Rumoured to have cost £50m, it takes luxury shopping to a whole new level. Three floors of unashamedly high end accessories, jewellery and clothing are complemented by dazzling highlights including a world class collection of art by the likes of Damien Hirst, Chris Ofili and Jeff Koons, a shop selling rare art books and a Bag Bar where shoppers

pick bags from a backlit, moving display. (Prices range from £265 for a mini bag to £30k for a special order crocodile skin bag.) There’s even an invitation only ‘apartment’ where big spenders can shop in private. And if you don’t want to thrash your plastic too much, just drop your card into the ironic ‘Credit Card Destroying Machine’, a kinetic sculpture by hip British artist Michael Landy. 17-18 New Bond Street, W1S 2RB w louisvuitton.com
