Navigator Broadway Market, E8

Sometimes called ‘Runway Market’ thanks to the almost ludicrously high fashion standards of its weekend visitors, this formerly drab fruit and veg market has been miraculously transformed in recent years. The Saturday food market pulls in the biggest crowds with an array of edibles ranging from the traditional (jellied eels and suet pies) to the trendy (cupcakes and sourdough sarnies). The produce is often pricier than Borough but the quality is good and it’s worth coming just to soak up the super hip East End vibe. You can eat your treats with an impromptu picnic on the grass of nearby London Fields. The market also has some cool design shops and a great selection of fashion stands, where you can pick up vintage gems at charity shop prices – but only if you beat the stylists to it.
