The Fifth Floor Bar


For a fabulous place to drop after you’ve shopped, try The Fifth Floor Bar at Harvey Nichols, recently revamped in a collaboration with Perrier-Jouët. A contemporary take on a classic art nouveau salon, the bar was designed by interiors guru Shaun Clarkson, who took his inspiration from a 1902 Cuveé Belle Époque champagne bottle. The result is stunning – a soothing white canvas with splashes of hot pink and grassy green, topped off with delicate floral illustrations. The cocktail menu is just as glamorous, and continuing with the floral theme, features a range of botanical cocktails. These include ‘London in Bloom’ made with gin, lychee, rhubarb liqueur

and orange flower; ‘Wild Flower’ with vodka, cherry and hibiscus; or ‘Garden Party’, with Perrier-Jouët, mint, elderflower, apple and a hint of wasabi. Champagne features strongly on the menu with a number of rare vintages such as Belle Époque Blanc de Blancs. Try a ‘Champagne Flight’, which serves a selection champagnes normally unavailable by the glass alongside bite size accompaniments made by Harvey Nics chef Jonas Karlsson. There’s also a luxurious bar menu featuring lobster cocktails, Rossini burgers, oysters and caviar, while delectable macaroons and cute little cupcakes provide the perfect sweet treat to accompany a glass (or three) of bubbly.
