It takes something pretty special to impress Soho’s social butterflies but Diu seems to have nailed it. Launched in spring with a rocking, celebrity packed party, the latest venture from Vedran Milosevic (former manager at Sketch and Kingly Club) is already the place to see and be seen. Matthew Williamson, Holly Valance Karen Millen and Tolula Adeyemi have been spotted hanging out in the swanky black VIP room (pictured) and Boy George has worked his magic in the DJ box. The dancefloor is often littered with off duty models and Dior-clad fashionistas sipping mini bottles of Moët. Soho’s trainer-wearing trendies have even strayed in

from legendary media hangout Groucho (in nearby Dean Street) to see what all the fuss is about. The interior was designed by the team behind the original Chinawhite and features glossy black walls, leather booths, glowing tables and splashes of brilliant gold. There are also lots of cool alcoves to explore as well as the pièce de résistance – an incredible laser room filled with fluorescent ribbons of light. Ed McAvoy (previously of LAB) is in charge of the drinks list and has invented some stunning cocktails. Don’t miss out on the extensive list of shooters – try the ‘Diu Mind?’ made with white sambuca, vanilla, passionfruit and apple juice – a classy alternative to Aftershock.
