Raising A million
The first two Macau Business Charity Golf Tournaments
and Gala Dinners raised more than MOP1 million
pecially designed for the local business commu-
nity, the annual golf outing was able to gather support
from all sectors to reach the million MOP landmark.
“It wasn’t easy trying to convince the local business
companies to extend their social responsibility to this event.
Convincing patrons to sponsor or enroll their teams to give
something back to the community was hard work,’’ said
Paulo A. Azevedo, MBSK Events’ co-managing director.
Nevertheless the event experienced double digit growth in
just its first two years. The 2007 event gathered 11 teams from
responsible corporate citizens and a hundred guests at the Gala
Dinner, the corresponding figures for 2008 were 20 and 200.
The objective is simple: give something back to the com-
munity by helping those who were left behind in the earlier
economic boom and now suffer with the global economic
