Policies and Procedures
Release and Waiver
In consideration of being permitted to participate in the Institute
program, the participant releases and discharges the U.S. Chamber
of Commerce and its directors, officers, and employees from any and
all claims, demands, actions, or damages of any kind arising in any
manner from the participant’s involvement in the Institute program.
The participant also understands and assumes any risks associated
with participation in the Institute program. To maintain high standards
of scholarship and behavior, Institute reserves the right to reject or
terminate any enrollment.
Absence
In order to successfully complete the Institute program requirements
and to receive the IOM graduate recognition, a participant must make
up any classroom instruction not attended through Institute instruction
only (i.e. sitting down with an instructor one-on-one, writing a paper, or
making class up at another Institute site). One member of each Board of
Regents will be responsible to implement this policy onsite and report
any deficiencies by any attendee to Institute staff.
Damage and Destruction of Property
Participants agree to be responsible for all damage caused to persons or
property during the entire duration of Institute and to indemnify and
hold harmless the U.S. Chamber and its officers, directors, employees,
agents, affiliates, successors, and assigns against and from any and all
demands, damages, liabilities, and losses, or any pending or completed
actions, claims, suits, complaints, proceedings, or investigations
(including reasonable attorney’s fees and other costs or expenses) to
which the U.S. Chamber may be or become subject as a result or arising
out of any negligent act or omission by the participant relating to his or
her participation in Institute.
