garlic botanical is more effective on the adaptive immunity of infected pigs than the capsicum oleoresin and turmeric oleoresin, as is indicated by increased proliferation of B cells and CD8+ T cells. Overall, the impact of plant extracts on alveolar macrophages was


lesser compared to the effects of PRRS virus. “However, the changes in the expression of immune related genes may help us understand the mechanisms through which plant extracts strengthen immune responses of PRRS-infected pigs,” the researchers concluded.
