THE ART OF STABILITY

Rune Eriksen highlights the benefits of custom made stabilisation platforms and their usage on board

M

ovements onboard ships caused by the sea surely have their charm for some, but for the human body

or for delicate instruments and processes, it may directly or indirectly be a challenge. Seasickness, fatigue and fatigue-related symptoms may be a result and movements may also create limitations to owner- activities, even delaying important detailed work processes onboard.

These movements onboard may neutralised. STABLE’s proven technology will remove the ship’s roll and pitch actions which negatively affect personnel, equipment or processes.

STABLE have supplied “on the spot” computerised, electrical, stabilised platforms since 2002. A large number of cruise vessels sail with STABLE billiards, and numerous yachts have billiards and beds stabilised for superior comfort.

Compensate for extreme roll and pitch movements

If you want to play billiards or pool onboard

Green footprint - energy and cost optimised Stabilising a complete large yacht with a displacement of several hundreds of tons requires a lot of energy. With the continuous and appropriate focus for green footprint, a dedicated “on the spot” stabilisation platform will neutralise both roll and pitch with only a few hundreds watts. Thereby a cost-effective and green solution providing extreme stabilisation accuracy.

Being easy to refit as there is no need for hull modifications is just a benefit on top,

your yacht – what to do? With technology and know-how from active heave compensating loading systems offshore, including the harsh North Sea environment and failsafe technology into the DNA, STABLE has developed the stabilised platform. It enables one of the most demanding applications in terms of responsiveness and accuracy – billiards!

The product range is however widespread; from beds and billiards to operating theatres, drone platforms, working tables and radar platforms. The solution is neutralising extreme roll and pitch angles, applied even for racing yachts.

besides full stabilization whenever the ship is sailing, at anchor or quayside. Medical treatment onboard

The unique stabilisation technology may also be used for health and safety aspects. Medical equipment like dialysis machines or CT and MR enterography machines have operation restriction if tilted more than a few degrees. If installed on a stabilised platform, usage, independent of the weather conditions will be secured, safeguarding health and safety for owner and crew without having to seek safe havens.

Billiards and pool tables

From the very first stabilised billiard table delivered in 2002, STABLE have delivered numerous billiards and pool tables for the cruise and luxury yacht segment. The technology may be integrated into unique table designs from various billiard manufacturers, even for systems to be installed outside.

Ultimate comfort starts with a stabilised bed Everyone wants a good night’s sleep. A stabilised embedded platform inside your bed will let you sleep unaffected through the waves. The platforms will be customised to match your size preferences and final design. Integration with suppliers of bespoke luxury beds and handmade mattresses is possible.

Made in Norway

The custom made STABLE platforms have been engineered and manufactured in Norway since 2002.
