ADVERTORIAL COOL RUNNING

Thomas Girschner discusses the importance of HVAC+R system checks and upgrades during refits

When in daily use, it’s important to know the systems are running to an optimum level, and with the Girschner PLC programming system, you are given complete peace of mind. The PLC system can be adopted by the on board control systems in place and assures smooth running and up to the minute reporting.

New Build

As new builds typically become larger and more complex, so the HVAC+R systems need to keep pace with larger spaces, the use of more glass and other variables dreamt up by the designers. This is where the continual training of the Girschner engineers and design team comes to the fore. By working with the shipyards and design team at an early stage, the units can be designed to take up the least amount of space whilst allowing the user to switch between medium an low temperatures at will.

Is it time to upgrade your HVAC+R system during your next refit or planned maintenance period?

F

or more than 25 years Girschner Marine has been standing for best in class and innovative HVAC+R systems and Rack Cooling Units

within the luxury yachting industry.

Refit Girschner Marine specialise in retro fitting, repair, upgrading or supply of bespoke chilled water plants and the provision of cooling plants and HVAC on board. Improving existing systems and increasing the reliability whilst reducing energy consumption and noise are paramount in any refit or repair project. After 25 years in this sector there is very little the refit team have not seen, the in- house engineers are highly trained, continue to investigate new innovations and have an enormous amount of experience and are always willing to take on what ever challenge falls their way.

The focus is not only on quality and compact systems but also on low energy consumption. Thomas Girschner confirms, “We are developing and building switching boards according to the customer requirements. Switching boards are fully wired and can be supplied separately or ready-to- run, mounted to a compressor rack. Again, our monitoring and control systems can be fitted with PLC controls and touch panels or with standard regulators making the continual running of the system as efficient as possible.” The range of uses for these units range from a chilled water system for a sauna plunge pool or a water-cooled heat exchanger for TV and SAT domes made of stainless steel.

Girschner Rack Cooling Units For the past few years Girschner has been manufacturing a range of Rack Cooling Units (RCU) for IT & AV racks. The RCU air/water-heat exchangers achieve, (depending on the provided cooling water), a high cooling effectiveness. A cooling capacity of 1,000 to 20,000 W can be achieved to deliver temperatures of 4 to 8 °C at the cooling water inlet with air temperatures from 27 to 35 °C.

The construction design is a perfect balance independent of ambient influences and offers maintenance accessibility unlike any other cooling units on the market. All Rack Cooling Units are equipped with electronic touch controllers. The Rack Cooling Units are highly recommended for the use in applications with high ambient temperatures or heavily polluted ambient air. The Rack Cooling Units can be equipped with several optional extras such as condensate pumps or other voltages.

Girschner Marine work with some of the largest and most respected shipyards in Europe.
