OVERHAUL & REFIT
With the rapid increase and complexity of refit projects, fire fighting systems together with health and safety are of paramount importance
he superyacht market has seen a rapid increase for refit projects. The key to success for such project cycles are competitive and flexible technology, comprehensive engineering as well as a good return of investment are aspects that are becoming more important than ever. Technoship has been active in the maritime market since 1968 as specialised supplier of Ultra Fog high pressure water mist fire-fighting systems as well as top-end Steen Deck machinery. Technoship is also a manufacturer of chain and mooring rollers and delivers anchors and chains to complement anchoring systems aimed at delivering comprehensive solutions.
T
Ultra Fog systems have long been adopted as primary fire-fighting solutions. Since its inception in 1990 Technoship has become the preferred choice by superyacht builders, owner and crew. Such accomplishments are achieved by keeping the Ultra Fog system affordable, efficient, and flexible while adopting continued innovative solutions.

AFFORDABLE To achieve maximum protection, Ultra Fog water mist firefighting systems require only a single nozzle to protect spaces of up to 48m2
engine rooms, for example 300m2 , require
only 12 nozzles instead of 19 nozzles as required by competitors.
Such efficiencies translate into a lower demand for water, power, installation materials and installation costs.
INNOVATION Ultra Fog patented nozzles can now be tested individually and in-situ using their innovative and user friendly Nozzle Tool. This means nozzles need not be removed and/or dismounted to proof their efficacy. System operations and alarms can be monitored via dedicated (touch screen) control panels which are compatible with on board systems to accommodate flexible and integrated solutions and ensure safety on board.
EFFICIENT
High pressure water mist system suppress and kill fires faster and more efficiently than any other method (90% less water damage compared to conventional sprinkler systems). In other words: Maximum assurance for continued operations and maximum safety. A fire is suppressed within one minute.
RELIABLE Ultra Fog systems are designed, tested and approved to be in conformity with IMO,
SOLAS regulations and Class societies. Technoship has been a partner for nearly 30 years and continues to support fast, responsive service and expertise.
The sum of all the above warrants Ultra Fog a front runner in water mist fire protection for yachts, be it new yachts or be it refits. The stainless-steel pipe network (of ø 12-28 mm for average yachts) can be fitted easily into existing yachts, their pump station and water tank can be redesigned to fit existing situations (pumps can be arranged in a compact way be it horizontally or vertically), control panels can be installed on the cabinets, in crew spaces and on the bridge and can include mimics of choice. Ultra Fog stainless steel nozzles are relatively small and can be executed with painted body if desired to match the interior design. The use of type approved flexible hoses makes the installation of the nozzles easier.
Ultra Fog systems have been installed on a variety of superyachts across the world since 1990, but the company still continues to innovate and improve their product offerings to the maritime sector.
