Another patent granted for Listawood’s AntiBug Drinkware

L

istawood has announced that one member of its family of patent applications for anti-microbial drinkware has now been granted in the vast subcontinent of India.

Sold as part of a range of products under the AntiBug trademark, the company first introduced anti-microbial drinkware products to the promotional market back in 2012; responding to well-publicised concerns about the transfer of pathogens in busy commercial settings, as well as hospitals, care facilities, and, indeed, at home. Since then, Listawood has invested heavily in research and development and global patent protection to support its innovations. In addition to its anti-microbial technology for drinkware Listawood has a wider portfolio of granted patents and patent applications encompassing products in its matt dye sublimation drinkware range, toner transfer coloured drinkware range and its ColourFusion range. Excitingly, data from other applications being released in recent months shows that the technology utilised in Listawood’s anti-microbial drinkware is proving highly effective in the reduction of the SARS- COVID-2 virus. The company are in the process of laboratory testing and expect to be able to release application specific data shortly. Alex Turner, managing director, Listawood, sad: “We’ve always been committed in our desire to offer unique and innovative lines and AntiBug is testament to this. It is important that our customers are aware that they are supplying products whose performance is supported by robust independent laboratory test data, meaning that they can pitch Listawood products with complete confidence.”

Schoolwear Association welcomes progression of school uniform bill

O

n March 12, the Education (Guidance about Costs of School Uniforms) Bill passed through the House of Commons.

The Schoolwear Association has welcomed this news. Matthew Easter, co-chair, said: “As an organisation we continue to support efforts at a national level that work towards ensuring all schools have an appropriate uniform policy in place.

“We will continue to work closely with the Department for Education to share our experience and expertise to help develop the guidance – as it’s of the upmost importance that with its implementation, we do not lose the many benefits that school uniform has in our schools. A sensible school uniform plays a key role in creating a strong school identity and ethos for learning, it encourages higher educational standards and reduces bullying, not to mention the hugely positive impact on social cohesiveness in our schools. “It’s equally critical that policymakers introduce the guidance in a gradual and phased way to give schools, families and retailers sufficient time to implement the new measures. We don’t want to see parents put in a position where they have to buy new uniform items before their children have grown out of their existing ones.”

The Bill has now been passed through to the House of Lords where it will be discussed.
