Mantis World and Clothes2order donate T shirts for women to attend interviews

head of International Women’s Day on March 8, Mantis World and


Clothes2order partnered to donate 200 organic T shirts, in a range of colours and sizes, to Smart Works. The T shirts will be used as a base layer under suit jackets when women attend interviews.


Smart Works is a UK charity that provides high quality interview clothes and interview training to unemployed women in need. The team harnesses the power of clothes and confidence to allow a woman to be her best at a crucial moment in her life, giving her the confidence, the self-belief and the practical tools required to succeed at interview and transform her life.

Simon Turner, marketing director, said: “We’re really excited to be offering this brand to our customers as not only is the quality of the T shirts great, the brand truly does live and breath a full sustainable message. We know how important this is to our customers going forward, and we are trying to be more aware of how we can also play our part in ensuring that we are as environmentally conscious as possible.”


On International Women’s Day, Mantis World reflected on its history. Founder and CEO Prama Bhardwaj founded the company 21 years ago and today the Mantis World team, including senior management, is majority female. Ms Bhardwaj said: “When I founded Mantis World in 2000, I never imagined that 21 years later we would still be the only promowear brand that is owned by women. I’ve had the privilege and pleasure of working alongside so many wise, talented, and dedicated women and this IWD we acknowledge the often unsung effort they make. We are always available to pay it forward – helping women succeed and gain the confidence to fulfil their true potential.”


New member of senior management team at Hybrid Services


ybrid Services has appointed Duncan Jefferies in the new role of head of marketing and


business development.


Since joining the company in 2002, Mr Jefferies has been directly involved with the UK and Ireland Mimaki distributor’s marketing and communications, and his appointment to Hybrid’s senior management team


underlines the company’s future plans. In the new role, Mr Jefferies will lead the company’s sales and marketing functions. Managing director, Brett Newman,

said: “Duncan’s knowledge and longstanding relationship with both Hybrid and Mimaki brands will be a real asset as we push the business forwards.” Mr Jefferies takes his position alongside recently appointed financial director, John Roberts in the new senior management team installed by Mr Newman following his promotion to managing director last autumn.


Mr Jeffries added: “It’s a privilege to be a part of the management team at Hybrid. Having been involved with the business for nearly 20 years, I’m as excited as ever about the opportunities that the Mimaki product line-up offers.”


Established since 1996 as Mimaki’s exclusive distributor for the UK and Ireland, Hybrid celebrates its 25th anniversary during 2021 and is currently enjoying a raft of new technology launches from the Japanese innovator, including three recently announced wide format printers in its new 100 Series line-up.


Lenzing unveils Tencel Modal fibre to help elevate sustainability


he Lenzing Group is enhancing sustainable offerings for the denim industry with Tencel branded modal fibres with Indigo Color technology. The pioneering Indigo Color technology incorporates indigo pigment directly into Tencel branded modal fibres using a one-step spun-dyeing process. This delivers superior colour fastness relative to conventional indigo dyeing while using substantially fewer resources. This offering is awarded with the EU Ecolabel.


The denim industry’s demand for eco-responsible alternatives is growing rapidly, as brands and supply chain partners seek greater sustainability. Lenzing has been working

closely with such partners to counteract environmentally harmful denim production processes via the botanic origin of its raw materials and responsible production processes. Denim remains an important market for Lenzing, and the introduction of Tencel Modal with Indigo Color technology is designed to help reduce the ecological footprint of denim fabrics and garments. Produced in Austria, predominantly from beech wood derived from sustainably managed wood sources, this new offering has been designated BioPreferred by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).


Compared to water and energy intensive conventional indigo dyeing, this technology


provides indigo colouration with substantial water, chemical and electricity savings, along with less wastewater produced, and no heat energy used. In addition, a specially

indigo pigment from dyestuff manufacturer DyStar ensures that Tencel Modal with Indigo Color technology can be certified with Standard 100 by Oeko-Tex.
