Amaya named Kornit Partner of the Year A
maya Sales UK has once again been named Partner of the Year in recognition of its continued relationship with Kornit Digital.
The award was presented virtually at this year’s EMEA regional Kick Off held on
Zoom on Monday, February 15, when over a 100 members of the region’s team and partners came together to kick start 2021. Peter Wright, managing director of Amaya, said: “This is probably the most significant award we have been given to date by our partners. At Amaya we have always worked hard to represent the brands we work with, and for Kornit to acknowledge this is a great achievement. The awards given are voted for by the whole team at Kornit, and for me it is truly satisfying to know that all our team have been recognised as delivering the high standards that we have worked so hard to set over the years. We are all really
Users can now print on leather with the Brother GTX
B
rother has now made it possible to print on leather using the GTX series of DTG printers. This follows the announcement of the option to print on dark polyester. The fact that it is possible to print on cotton, dark polyester and leather without having to change inks or apply complicated modifications to the printer itself, makes this a valuable feature for all users of the Brother GTX series.
Users can now expand their product range without having to make large investments. Printing on leather can be done on the raw material in order to produce finished shoes, bags or other items in the next step, but, of
course items such as backpacks, belts and many other things can be refined with photo-realistic 4c prints as well. Users can choose between matt or glossy finishes by using only one pre-treatment which can be obtained from Brother’s certified dealers now.

Spinnova and Suzano to open commercial scale factory in 2022
M
aterial innovation company Spinnova and the world’s largest wood pulp producer Suzano will make an estimated €22 million investment to build the first commercial scale Spinnova production facility in Finland. Spinnova’s sustainable fibre will be available for global textile brands in 2022.
Suzano is a world leader in the production of eucalyptus pulp and has expanded its operations to create sustainable and innovative solutions derived from trees to the challenges faced by society. In the joint venture, Spinnova will be the exclusive technology provider, while Suzano will ensure the supply of sustainably produced micro-fibrillated cellulose obtained from eucalyptus planted by Suzano in Brazil.
With a process that uses no harmful chemicals and 99% less water than the cotton value chain, the Spinnova fibre can be considered the most sustainable textile fibre there is. Fibre produced this way creates minimal CO2 emissions, is quickly biodegradable and contains no microplastics. The fact that these fibres can be recycled into a new fibre again and again makes the Spinnova fibre disruptively circular. The Spinnova technology enables textile fibre production out of wood but also from textile waste or agricultural waste such wheat or barley straw.

he organisers of Sign & Digital UK, due to take place at Birmingham’s NEC in May, have announced the exhibition has moved to March 22 to 24, 2022.
Due to ongoing government restrictions the proposed May 2021 show dates were no longer feasible.
Jenny Matthew, event director, said they will host the industry’s biggest reunion next March at a time when they are confident they can deliver an exceptional trade-show experience for exhibitors, sponsors, and visitors.
The floor plan is already packed, with more exhibitors to be brought on board over the coming months.
