Disneyland Paris is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. The park has changed hugely since it first opened in 1992. Two theme parks - Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park - join seven hotels and a 27-hole golf course. A new daytime show outside Sleeping Beauty Castle launched on 6 March, and characters have donned new iridescent. Costumes. Most excitingly, the Avengers Campus is set to open this summer.
Legoland Deutschland is celebrating two decades of fun and adventure for the whole family, having opened for the first time on 17 May 2002. The family theme park located in the Bavarian city of Guenzburg hopes to celebrate with multi-generational visits, with those who visited with their parents now returning with their own children. Two premieres are the highlights of the birthday festivities: the worldwide first Legoland Parade in May and the opening of the new Ninjago Qyarter at Pentecost, a Ninjago themed accommodation in the Legoland Holiday Village.
This year, Sacoa is celebrating its 65 year anniversary as an operator and its 30 year anniversary as a supplier to the entertainment industry. Jorge Mochkovsky, president of Sacoa, said: “This is a very special year of growth for us. We are celebrating 65 years since I joined my father, Mauricio Mochkovsky, in the entertainment business…[it] coincides with the 30-year anniversary of the Sacoa PlayCard System, which was developed internally from a personal need to optimise the operation of our premises.”
Fairytale-themed Efteling theme park in Kaatsheuvel, the Netherlands is celebrating an amazing 70th birthday this year. Europe’s third-largest theme park officially covers 180 acres but only 11% has been developed – the rest is filled with woodland and lakes. Thrills are provided by high-speed Baron 1898 and Aquanura, Europe’s largest water show. Visitors can enjoy two new attractions forming a new area, the World of Sindbad, to celebrate the park’s anniversary year. Sirocco is a Mack Rides teacup ride themed as a raging storm at sea, and Archipel is a splash park themed as an oriental fishing village, with a beach and several bamboo huts on stilts.
