debuts RipTide Raceway, the longest mat racing water slide in the Midwest at Oceans of Fun water park. From WhiteWater, RipTide Raceway will take guests five stories high before they speed down four side-by-side tunnels atop a soft foam mat. Riders in each lane will race more than 476 feet (145 m) to be the first to reach the finish line as they make an exhilarating journey down a winding hillside, around a tight 360º loop and through a rapid final descent before splashdown. Canada’s Wonderland, Vaughan,
Ontario, is preparing to reopen with new experiences including Mountain Bay Cliffs, a cliff-jumping attraction situated high above the landscape of Splash Works water park and Beagle Brigade Airfield. Guests can experience the exhilaration of cliff jumping from a variety of heights into the water below, with the ultimate challenge of conquering the highest peak at 7.5 meters (25 feet). Carowinds, Charlotte, North Carolina, reopened as Carolina Harbor water park
introduced Boogie Board Racer by WhiteWater, the longest mat-racing water slide in the Southeast. It is the first new attraction in Carolina Harbor since the waterpark was expanded and re-themed in 2016. Postponed in 2020, Six Flags Great
America, Gurnee, Illinois, will introduce Tsunami Surge, an innovative, record- breaking new water coaster at the park’s Hurricane Harbor in 2021. From WhiteWater West, the new coaster towers 86 feet (26 m) in height and will propel riders through 950 feet (290 m) of slides and tunnels at a speed of 42 feet per second (13 m/s). Coconut Shores, a one-acre water play
kid’s area renovation project at Kings Dominion Soak City Water Park, Doswell, Virginia, postponed from its 2020 introduction, is now slated to open May 2021. Aquatic Development Group (ADG) has been contracted as its design/builder. The new attractions include a new multi- level play structure from WhiteWater West with over 200 interactive water features and over eight kid-friendly slides plus ADG’s Mini Harbour water ride attraction. ADG’s Mini Harbour is a kid’s miniature wave pool powered by WaveTek technology. With wave height up to 12 inches (30 cm), this
attraction is designed to provide real-feel ocean experience for the youngest of guests. Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Phoenix,
Glendale, Arizona, is offering guests a bigger, better and wetter experience with its largest expansion in years. The exciting, new Paradise Island will feature a 12,000 square foot (1,115 sq m) activity pool. Guests will keep cool and enjoy plenty of fun in the sun with a new water volleyball area and a unique water basketball court. The addition will also include more shade, lounge seating, restrooms and new culinary options. In Cherry Valley, Illinois, Hurricane
Harbor Rockford is adding the only tailspin waterslide in the Midwest—Tidal Wave. From WhiteWater West, this uniquely designed waterslide will send riders through a limitless wave as they descend from 43 feet (13 m) above the ground, reaching speeds of 15 mph (24 kph) through twists and turns. Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Splashtown,
Spring, Texas, opens the new Wahoo Wave from Whitewater West. This six-story slide complex takes riders 30 feet (9 m) down, then sweeps them back up into the ride’s signature feature: a massive water wall.
