Attraction Profile

The star attraction is
undeniably Flight of the Sky Lion, the UK’s first flying theatre. The story based attraction sees guests carried by Maximus the Sky Lion through Mythica
The towers offer airtime and laughter that go far beyond what one might expect from a relatively small ride. Many were jumping off and racing to get back in the queue for another go.
Since this is LEGOLAND, there are the obligatory LEGO models installed around the new land. Some of the mythical creatures were designed in collaboration with school children. Among the creatures are a winged mouse, a dog with a peacock tail and the four headed Chimera. No one will miss the 25m tall model of Maximus the Sky Lion, which took 685,530 bricks to create.
One of the stars of MYTHICA is Bits & Bobs, a colourful and cute little alicorn. Visitors to Mythica can meet him, in puppet form, for a photo opportunity in the Creature Encounter. Elsewhere there’s the Creature Creation Station where kids can play with some LEGO to make new mythical creatures to live in MYTHICA. In today’s theme parks, food plays a big part in the experience, and MYTHICA is home to three new donuts especially themed to some of the character, that can’t be enjoyed anywhere else. The park’s smartphone app has also been updated to include a section dedicated to MYTHICA. Through

the use of Augmented Reality, the app brings the LEGO models to life before your very eyes. You can even set down a portal, not just whilst in the park, and walk through it into the world of MYTHICA at any time. Since this is the park’s 25th anniversary, there’s more happening at the park than just a new land. Bits & Bobs appears in his own 4D film in the LEGO Studios 4D cinema. Whilst the Miniland area is having a renovation and refresh, bringing in new models and making much loved icons look as good as new.
All told, Merlin is investing £20million across LEGOLAND Windsor Resort for their milestone anniversary. From the guest reactions of MYTHICA, especially for the Flying Theatre, it’s fair to say that it has been money well spent.
