major trade show – the rebranded and expanded EAG offers fresh opportunities for exhibitors within this sector to network and promote to major international buyers. Discussing the value of the Expo for the coin-op sector, Martin Burlin, chairman of

EAG Expo said: “The coin-operated amusements industry has helped drive the growth of EAG International Expo over all the years of its operation. So, it is only fitting now that the coin-op sector should reap the rich rewards offered by the expansion of this event. “Having the entire leisure industry together in one place presents the perfect

opportunity for traditional amusements companies to explore new trends and developments in the industry and thereby uncover potential new markets. As such, the Expo offers even more value to the coin-operated amusements sector than ever before.” With a comprehensive schedule of seminars presenting insights from leading

speakers right across the leisure industry, EAG International Expo promises to be a hugely important B2B trade event for all businesses in the amusements space.

Rockin’ Raceway Pigeon Forge debuts Omni Arena

Face Amusement Group and Virtuix, developer of the Omni Arena virtual reality esports attraction, have announced the launch of Omni Arena at the Rockin’ Raceway location in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Using motion technology, the high- energy, four-player system is said to be the only attraction that allows guests to experience running in virtual reality. Enhancing the guests overall

experience, the attraction includes a built-in staging area with 8 seats, 11 TVs, 11 touchscreens, pre- and post-game show and recorded gameplay video for social sharing. Players have the option of four games ranging from co-operative arena-style shooters to player-vs-player deathmatch games. More than 300 guests played Omni Arena in its first week of operation.

“We are eager to bring a new level of

amusement to the classic environment of Rockin’ Raceway,” said Bucky Mabe, CEO of Face Amusement Group. “This action-packed attraction allows guests to explore the world of virtual reality and with its four games and ongoing prize contests, players have plenty to keep them coming back for more.” The Rockin’ Raceway entertainment complex is

located directly on the Pigeon Forge parkway and features go-kart racing and over 150 modern arcade games. “We’re excited to work with Face Amusement

Group and bring Omni Arena to Pigeon Forge,” said Jan Goetgeluk, CEO of Virtuix. “This is the first- of-its-kind arena in Tennessee, and we’re sponsoring a $50,000 prize pool for players to come compete against teams around the world.” Omni Arena is an anchor attraction offering a

complete guest experience that lasts 15 to 20 minutes. In a recent survey of 1,100 players, 40% reported they had come to the venue specifically to play Omni Arena. Compared to other anchor attractions, Omni Arena is both affordable and compact. The system currently costs $121,000 and has a footprint of 375 square feet (35 sq m).

Waldameer Park & Water World adds attractions

For 2020, Waldameer Park & Water World, Erie, Pennsylvania, will make a $3 million investment in Water World, where it will add a six-lane Rally Racer mat slide complex from ProSlide Technologies. It replaces their two speed slides, installed in 1989. The Rally Racer will be installed by a crew from Rick Last’s USA, Inc. In the amusement park, a compact spinning coaster from SBF – Visa (pictured)

is being added, purchased through Len Soled of Rides-4-U. The family ride will replace its Water Wars game and Showtime Theatre. The covered theatre audience space will be converted to tables with seating for up to 96 people because it is right next to the main food building.
