A comprehensive and customisable service


Vivaticket is the new identity of the company readers may know as Best Union, designer and producer of ticketing and access control systems for the leisure, culture, sports, and entertainment sectors. With years of experience, Vivaticket products are a global benchmark, and the company now has over 2,000 installations in more than 40 countries. Park World spoke to chairman Luca Montebugnoli to find out more about what Vivaticket has to offer.


Where and when was Vivaticket formed? Vivaticket was founded in Bologna in 1999 by the merging of a software house and an event management company, whose main founders were Luca Montebugnoli and Luana Sabattini. During the 2000s Vivaticket has grown exponentially, partly thanks to the acquisitions made over the years that have allowed us to expand on the international market and acquire great innovative skills and multi-market know-how. Today Vivaticket has 18 operational sites in 40 countries.


What is your background in the industry? My personal background is in technology and services sectors, with a Degree in Telecommunications and Statistics science. My working experience began when, at 15 years old, I became part of the security staff of the two Bologna’s basketball clubs. When I was 18 I started selling tickets and following the treasury and tax services for dozens of clients including the Pavarotti and Friends concerts in Modena. My role at Vivaticket is to drive global growth processes through strategic agreements and the acquisition of large clients.

How has Vivaticket’s identity evolved with its name change? The evolution of the name is a natural consequence of the group's choice to focus on the B2C activities. Our B2B activity has seen our group amongst the top in the world for ticketing services, and now we plan to give our clients an innovative platform to sell more tickets through better channels, as well as face the secondary ticketing market by ensuring the management of re-sales in a direct and transparent way.


In what ways have ticketing and access control for theme parks and the leisure industry evolved in Vivaticket’s lifetime? The transition from paper tickets to digital tickets (RFID devices, phones, NFC credit cards, etc) has radically changed our product. This change brought the great opportunity of integrating with resellers and other players outside the venue. Moreover, the ticketing service is no longer just the sale of tickets but offers the possibility of developing a number of collateral activities that can all contribute to the growth of the business.
