Waterpark Profile

Shinhwa Waterpark

Shinhwa Waterpark opened as a part of South Korean integrated entertainment resort Jeju Shinhwa World earlier this summer. Jeju’s largest waterpark facility, it has a total area of 15,000 sq m and can accommodate up to 4,000 guests

Something for everyone The waterpark offers 19 attractions in total, with 13 indoor and outdoor pools – including a spectacular outdoor wavepool – as well as six world-class water slides designed and installed by water slide manufacturer Proslide Technology. There are also additional facilities such as outdoor Cabanas, a Jacuzzi facility, and a Spa, all equipped for relaxation and enjoyment.

The park is split into three areas: thrill zone Wave River, beach zone Fantastic Shore, and Tropical River, a family fun area. Wave River Zone is designed for adventurers, and is home to Super Clipper Coil and Giant Double Leaf, both making their Asian debuts at the park. Super Clipper Coil is a 250m long ProSlide RocketBLAST water coaster, with thrilling FlyingSAUCER 30 features that excite riders with high speed, high acceleration, and multiple curves with powerful centrifugal force and gravity effects. Giant Double Lift, meanwhile, a ProSlide Double TornadoWAVE, sees riders on four-person rafts drop from a 21.22m start tub into a dizzying 385 degree turn and then into the first TornadoWAVE. Riders feel long hang times and zero G-forces as they sweep up and across the first wall, peaking at an average height of 15.2m and virtually defying gravity before descending and exiting into the first out-run. Then they rocket up the second WAVE to an average height of 6.7m, again sweeping across and defying gravity before finally exiting into the pool. Play structure Jeju Adventure features gallons of fun and interactive pouring and splashing activities, climbs and slides.

58 Shinhwa Waterpark’s family fun zone, Tropical River

offers a space designed to offer something for every member of the family, with a mixture of hot water pools, large water slides and play areas. Big Cup and Extreme Pipe form the central focal point. The former is a wacky ride through a 10m giant cup that packs a thrilling swing, whilst the latter offers an enclosed 80m pipe ride with three extreme curves. For the grown ups and grandparents, relaxing waterfall pool Healing Stream is a modern interpretation of the famous Donnaeko Valley in Jeju, a place to unwind and kick back. Indoor warm water spas take it a step further, with a variety of options for relaxation. The Recreation Pool, is shallow, and a great place for play with young children, along with the Kids Pool, which was created with children in mind and features shallow waters and gentle water sprays and geysers. The Mini Pool is an indoor pool for parents with toddlers and infants. The beach zone, Fantastic Shore, predictably features a

large wave pool, as well as a sand-castle themed kids play pool, and two short and steep waterslides. The Roof Garden Pool offers a break from all the excitement with therapeutic Jacuzzi pools. A number of food and retail options complete Shinhwa

Waterpark’s offering: guests can choose from Extreme BBQ; NY-style hot dog and cold beer at Wavy Dog; Korean sweet and spicy stir-fried snacks at DEE-LISHOUS or tea and cake at Just Café, amongst others.
