IAAPA opens Shanghai Office


The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) announced the opening of a new regional office in Shanghai China at the end of January, expanding and enhancing the association’s programs and services in the Asia-Pacific region.

hina has been experiencing tremendous growth in the attractions industry and we are excited to open a regional office in Shanghai. This will allow us to further support our local participants and connect them with our global


participants,” said Paul Noland, IAAPA president and CEO. “Our goal is to continue to provide exceptional levels of service in China, while remaining committed to the success of the region’s thriving attractions industry. IAAPA’s Chairman, Andreas Andersen added that the attractions industry is very


exciting, particularly in the fastest growing attraction market of the world: China. “From food and beverage, to ride design and manufacturing to establishing and constructing destination theme parks and family entertainment centers, attractions continues to thrive and bring smiles to millions of people every year,” he noted. Joey Zhang, formerly of Pro Fun/MR China, has been appointed as manager of


the Shanghai office, reporting to June Ko, vice president Asia-Pacific operations, who continues to manage IAAPA’s regional presence from the Hong Kong Office. The opening of the new Shanghai office is IAAPA’s first representative office in mainland China, and its second office in the Asia-Pacific region. Doug Stagner, IAAPA’s chief operating officer, also formally announced that the 2019 Asian Attractions Expo (AAE) would be held in China to underline IAAPA’s continued
