What is the single most important factor when it comes to running a successful park?

Mike Penzato, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay: Safety and world-class guest service are the most important factors needed to run a successful theme park, you will never have a second chance to make a first impression. At Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, it is important to ensure that our guests have the safest, most enjoyable experience possible when visiting our parks. If you’re friendly, courteous and engaging, it will make their visit memorable and one to talk about.

Andreas Andersen, Liseberg: People. We can build the greatest attractions, book the best performers and develop the most forward-thinking marketing campaigns, but nothing of this has any value, if the service delivery is not 100%. We are not just an attractions business, we are a people business.

Dorthe Weinkouff Barsøe, Tivoli: The most important word here is authenticity. This word holds Tivoli to its concept of tradition and innovation, it dictates quality and it motivates the staff without which we wouldn’t keep our high satisfaction and recommendation rates.

Jerry Brick, Lake Compounce: The single most important element needed to run a successful park is the team. If the team is not a team then you have a bunch of individuals running your facility. You need cohesiveness from every single team member that is a part of your facility to not only do their job, but to remember the big picture and put the guest and the park first.

Danilo Santi, Gardaland: Innovation is the magic word: the new generations burn and devour the ideas like a post on socials; so theme parks need to present and offer year by year, month by month, even week by week, innovative stimulus to attract people and their attention. Innovation feeds high quality and meets guests’ expectation, both

developing new chances of fun for people who want to take advantage of their increasing leisure time.

David Tommaso, Leolandia: You need to focus on people: aim to get the best team and support them to turn a park into a magic experience. You need: - Visionary people to create a unique, immersive experience for visitors - Smart people to launch and promote it in the market - Passionate people to operate, welcome guests and sustain properly the positioning

If you think is a banal concept, try to think how your favorite park would look run by a lousy team.

Jason McClure, Cedar Point: The single most important element to running a successful park is having a passionate and enthusiastic team of associates that are committed to delivering the preeminent guest experience. World class attractions, dining experiences, great entertainment and a picturesque locale along Lake Erie certainly help, but if it wasn't for our devoted, guest-focused associates, Cedar Point wouldn't be as successful as we are.”

Emilia Montali, Chessington World Of Adventures Resort: The single most important element to run a successful Park is our staff. They not only ensure health and safety is our number one priority, but contribute significantly to making sure our guests have a memorable day out!
