First VR-Powered Hyper Reality Experience Centre launches in UK
Unlock is a leading escape game company with six sites in four cities, and has unveiled the Hyper Reality Experience™, the first in a series of centres to be launched in British cities. The Hyper Reality Experience™ merges virtual reality technology with physical sets and multisensory effects to create a unique, fully immersive multi-player entertainment attraction. Former J.P Morgan executive and director at Tick Tock Unlock Ali Khan who
T
developed the reality experience said: “Our Hyper Reality Experience centres will provide a new form of entertainment
that is part video game, part virtual reality, part real-world, part theatrical production. The centres will allow players to experience a free-roaming, live action challenge which has to be physically completed but which takes place in the playground of a virtual world. Participants have to interact with objects, which, in the real world are dummy props, but when viewing through VR headsets become, say, an elevator door, a laser gun or a fuel cell. Players might feel the heat from a virtual fire or the draft from a mineshaft so that it will be difficult to distinguish reality from virtual reality. Our first Hyper Reality Experience centre has been optimised for a retail environment, but future sites will also include larger, out-of-town retail centres and theme parks and we are in talks with partners about our next locations.”

As the weather warms up in Southern California the newly expanded Knott’s Soak City Waterpark is set to open its gates to guests for another summer season. The newly expanded water park will be debuting seven new slides on two new slide towers, Shore Break and The Wedge, including a fully remodeled Longboard’s Grill, additional seating areas and new spacious cabanas. Shore Break will take single riders on an adrenaline filled water adventure as
thrill-seekers board one of four Aqua Launch chambers to await the chamber’s floor dropping from beneath their feet, sending them on a high speed free fall down a 60-foot tall slide and through a series of exhilarating drops and daring loops. The Wedge will take families of up to six riders on an open raft ride as they descend down navigating twists, turns and unexpected dips.
