APEX GAMING

APEX gaming

Casino International: How has APEX been supporting customers during the pandemic? Kubilay Özer: In times like these it’s very important to listen carefully to customers and put yourself in their shoes to truly understand their challenges and needs. Close communication is a key component of any solid

relationship with the customers. This has been one of our fundamental principles ever since APEX was established. We have had intensive discussions with nearly all our clients, in terms of how we can support them in this pandemic period and also to generate the new perspectives and solutions for the future and I am pretty sure this will strengthen our relationship even more.

Casino International caught up with APEX gaming VP of Global Sales and Marketing, Kubilay Özer to discuss the company’s positive approach to business

CI: How has COVID affected APEX? Is it possible to take any positives from this? KÖ: This crisis did not impact all industries equally. APEX is the one of the fastest-growing companies in this industry. We have customers around the globe and luckily some of them were able to operate during this pandemic period, particularly in northern parts of America. This gave our business and our products additional opportunities to expand into these territories. Besides, we used this opportunity to optimize our internal processes. We opened a new production facility and the existing one has been expanded. In addition, our APEX Team has welcomed five new employees.

CI: Has the company been using this period for more intensive R&D? KÖ: Yes, exactly. This gave us more space to focus on our research and development. Currently, we are working on diverse projects with the specific aim of fascinating and enthralling our customers, which in turn will lead to pivotal change in every casino’s history.

CI: We have a path out of the coronavirus now. What do you think the future is for the industry worldwide, and how has it changed? KÖ: From my point of view the future looks generally positive. In addition, most of the operators are planning to open their doors to their guests and are preparing their locations for a big re-opening. As global sales director of APEX I have daily contact with

the casino operators worldwide and they have similar expectations concerning the development of the market after the pandemic. Therefore, they have begun to invest in their business and are planning to expand their budgets.

CI: Most industry expos and conferences have been cancelled in the short term – what can we expect to see from APEX when we can attend expos internationally again? How has a lack of expos affected you as a sales director? KÖ: This affects all manufacturers and operators worldwide; we plan our exhibitions and conferences in advance but to cancel or postpone this has a huge effect on our business. Our Sales Team and myself keep in close contact with our

clients during this pandemic time and have been trying to visit them personally, once we were able to travel.
