There have been plenty of column inches devoted to the ICE Barcelona trade fair over the last few months as the industry geared up for this annual showcase event. Now, having visited the show myself, I can understand why. Organiser Clarion Gaming took a bold but calculated decision, driven by and with the support of the trade, to relocated the exhibition to Barcelona and it certainly paid off. This was my fi rst visit to the show, so I don’t have a reference to compare it with, but what I can say is that the organisation, quality and professionalism of the event was top notch.

ICE Barcelona was more than a just a trade fair, it had a great atmosphere that felt more like a festival of gaming entertainment with something for everyone. This was helped by the number of other relevant satellite events taking place around the show that focused on specifi c topics. Whether attending with an interest in land-based casinos, iGaming, affi liation, developing, esports, sustainability, or any number of other categories within our industry, you were well catered for.

And as we go to press with this issue, the fi nal numbers for the Barcelona editions of ICE and iGB Affi liate have just been confi rmed as a new record at 59,101 unique attendees, surpassing the previous high of 52,345 which was set in 2024 – the last shows to be held in London – representing an 11% year-on-year uplift. You can read more about the fair and summaries from some of the major exhibitors in our review that starts on page 14.

One of the key events taking place alongside ICE was the fi rst European iGaming Awards. This was yet another demonstration of the innovation and growth taking place within our industry, as the major players gathered to celebrate the suppliers, products and professionals driving its success. I’d like to thank all those who attended and congratulate the winners featured in our roll call starting on page 18. I look forward to seeing you there next year!
