CI: You mention phones; at G2E 2022 you launched what you called ‘tap and pay’, a new addition to your cashless tech.
Jean-Michel: Yes, you’re quite correct. What our latest cashless development does is allow players to top-up their account without having to leave their EGM. A unique QR code is generated when a player selects ‘Top-Up’ on their player tracking unit. Once scanned by their smartphone, the QR Code re-directs the player’s phone to a selected secure pay gate where the ‘Top-Up’ payment is affected in much the same way as the purchase of airtime or data or perhaps a train or plane ticket. The transaction is then verified by the player through their own personal banking App and the transfer is actioned; either directly to the slot machine or the player’s account/card.
Andreas: This went down a treat with our American customers in Las Vegas in October; I am sure it will do the same in London
CI: Speaking of which, I understand you’ve now taken Cashless a step further with a new App – something that will be on show at ICE for the first time?
Jurgen: Yes we have, and what I believe sets our App apart are two things: 1. The fact that it basically affords players the full functionality of our touchscreen drScreen player tracking unit in their back pocket; and
2. That it ‘sits on top of’ our new properietary drMobile middleware in so doing making it: a. fully themeable and skinable; and, due to our open standards
b. available to a 3rd party App developer to design a fully bespoke UI and UX ‘front-end’ as an operator may see fit.
Allwin: You know players often forget what the cash balance is on their cards, the number of loyalty points they have, or what promotions or bonuses they may currently qualify for, now they can just open their App and check.
Andreas: Similarly operators can now send ‘push notifications’ to players of any new promotions or bonuses they may qualify for – don’t we all love those red dots in the top right corner of App tiles showing how many unread messages we have? These could be big jackpot win notifications, special event notifications or dedicated mystery jackpot dates and times – the list literally is quite endless.
Jean-Michel: Maybe one last thing: and that is the ability, within the App, for players to update any personal details. No need to go to reception or the cash desk. It’s all there fully integrated and operating in real time.
CI: Thanks gentlemen. Despite your new App and ‘Tap and Pay’ technology, and the UI and UX updates to your reports, your full systems offering, and associated jackpots will obviously all be on show at ExCel too, correct?
Allwin: Yes, they will be.
