DRGT – ICE PREVIEW

DRGT: cashing in on cashless at ICE 2023

DR Gaming Technology’s CEO, Jurgen De Munck, MD: Africa, Allwin Language, MD: Austria, Andreas Duller and MD: DRGT™ Online, Jean-Michel De Busscher talk ICE 2023 and specifically their all-new drApp

Jurgen De Munck, Allwin Language Andreas Duller

Casino International: At the last ‘all-in’ edition of ICE in 2020 DR Gaming Technology™ received a 10 year exhibitor award – that’s quite an innings.

Jurgen: Yes, it is. I can’t believe that is now three years ago. Nonetheless, it was a nice surprise, and I suppose even more so now, 36 months hence where after some troubling times for us all, we remain ‘alive and kicking’. A position we are thankful for every day, and is reflective of the sound relationships we have with our business partners.

CI: You mention partners and – specifically in your systems and cashless space - that is the case isn’t it? You’re in this together.

Jean-Michel: Quite right. Our business started ‘at home’ in Belgium in 2005, and since then we have been fortunate enough to expand to almost every continent on the planet; I think that talks volumes in itself to the strength of the relationships we have with our operator-partners.

Allwin: Agreed. As you know in our business we share the risk. If our customers are having a tough time of it, and things are slow, we also feel ‘the pain’. As such, what remains paramount to our joint success and sustainability is developing new technologies and augmenting our existing ones in order to continue to put ‘the Player First’.

CI: ‘Player First’ technology – that’s your ‘thing’ right? 60 FEBRUARY 2023 Jean-Michel De Busscher

Andreas: Yes it is, and always will be. Without players our business and our partners’ business wouldn’t exist. We do our best to engage with our partners as frequently as we can, not just to maintain the relationships we have but to also chat about ideas and suggestions they may have, and to use them as a sounding board for the ideas we have.

Jurgen: A case in point is the total revamp of the look and feel, and I trust usability, of our reports. During the engagements referred to just now by Andreas, the general feedback from our partners was that they were, let’s say a little too utilitarian – they did what they needed to, and admittedly really well, but were not the easiest to always navigate through and some of the functionality was also not uniform. As such, Michiel (van Dam, CTO) and his team have done what I think is a great job in maintaining the power of our reports, but now with a far more contemporary and intuitive user experience. They’ll be available for all to see at ICE.

CI: Systems are where it all started for you back in 2005, as Jean-Michel mentioned, but Cashless per se’, has always been part of the journey, hasn’t it?

Jurgen: Yes it has, a core part of our journey, and we continue to drive that mandate every day, from TITO, to RFID cards, and I guess most recently the use of NFT via smartphones. Our cashless technology is now fully integrated across Slots and Tables, the Cash Desk, access control, loyalty point, and cash redemption kiosks as well as the likes of food and beverage outlets, and show box offices too.
