65 GAMING INTERNATIONAL
ONLINE Anjali Sooknanan reports on all things iGaming, with an ICEy flavour this month!
Editor’s comment
ICE: at the very least a damn good opportunity to see if my suit still fits. Having mentally prepared for a fairly quiet Christmas and New Year
workwise, I was instead plunged into my first issues as Managing Editor, and two pretty key issues at that! January and February’s Casino International herald the arrival of ICE, as we try to prise the key announcements out of the big players a couple of weeks before they really want to share them with anyone... but it’s worth it! From a personal point of view, this ICE will be unlike any before for me,
as I finally have a genuine excuse to waste a few hours of my diary sauntering up to new table games and giving the demonstration boys and girls something to do (and someone to teach). Though my focus was previously set firmly on the iGaming side of our industry, I was never one to shy away from the bread-and-butter guys – the companies selling uniforms for staff and buttons for cabinets. And then there are the GIANTS! Huge plots of land stretching off across the ExCeL carpet (I wonder if they’ll have those weird marzipan chocolates this year? Surely they went out of date decades ago?) Anyway, I have plenty of new people to meet, so if you see me standing in the middle of a random piece of carpet looking lost, please do come and say hello. Especially if you have chocolate. Be seeing you.
