Presidente extiende el periodo de regularización de las bancas
El Presidente Luis Abinader dispuso mediante decreto, “y por un periodo de seis meses, la desconcentración de las atribuciones de la Dirección de Casinos para otorgar licencias de operación de bancas de apuestas de lotería, agencias o puntos de venta que se acogieron al plan de regularización”. El documento, en su artículo 2, establece que las bancas de
apuestas de lotería, agencias o puntos de venta objeto del presente decreto que incumplan sus deberes tributarios serán objeto de las sanciones establecidas en la normativa correspondiente. Además, fi ja un plazo de 30 días, hasta el 19 de diciembre, para que
aquellas bancas que no se encuentren registradas y no se acogieron al plan de regularización, puedan hacerlo ahora, presentando una declaración jurada ante la Dirección de Casinos y Juegos de Azar del Ministerio de Hacienda, la cual debe indicar que se encontraban operando antes de iniciado el proceso de regularización, condicionando tal declaración al pago de la suma total establecida por el Ministerio de Hacienda, por el periodo de operación antes del plan de regularización.

President Abinader extends regularization period for lotto betting outlets
Dominican Republic President Luis Abinader signed a decree that “for a period of six months, gaming regulators, Dirección de Casinos y Juegos de Azar, are not able to grant operating licences to lottery betting outlets – called “bancas”, agencies, or points of sale, that took advantage of the latest regularization plan.” Article 2 of the decree establishes that such bancas, agencies
or points of sale as pointed out in the presidential decree that fail to comply paying their tax obligations will be subject to sanctions set out in current regulations. The decree also sets a period of 30 days, until December 19,
for bancas that are not registered and did not take advantage of the latest regularization plan to be able to do so now, by presenting an affi davit to Dirección de Casinos y Juegos de Azar at Ministry of Finance, indicating that they were operating before the regularization process began, and that affi davit is conditional on payment of the total amount of tax ordered by the Ministry of Finance, for the period of operation before the regularization plan began.
