SUZOHAPP – THE BIG INTERVIEW

“Ensuring continuity of service was our first big step to make sure customers that were open were able to get what they needed from us to keep their businesses running”

felt we had to take what strides we could to at least keep the industry and our customers operational.

CI: How do you see the many markets you operate in globally surviving this storm? And what plans do you have to continue supporting the industry and your customers? SB: It is very difficult to say how the markets will bounce back. While a full recovery will take time, we have yet to see how quickly things may change once a vaccine is available. It is extremely encouraging however, to know that the demand was still there post-closures which serves as an indicator for the future. As casinos reopened this past summer, we saw lines around the block in some cases just to get in! We know that the industry serves as a wonderful escape for people and that type of experience is always desirable. That being said, the travel and hospitality aspect of gaming plays an integral part and gaining consumer confidence for travel may be difficult depending on how quickly a vaccine is found and administered to the public. As we have learned along the way, nothing is guaranteed. Until then, we plan to continue to support the industry and our customers as best we can, always looking for those opportunities to be that simplified

source for customers. We remain optimistic that the turnaround is coming, we just have to be patient.

CI: Will there be any long-term changes both for you, and the industry as a whole, do you think? SB: We will definitely see the continued rise of online gaming and sports betting as we come out of this. As an industry, we will need to adapt to get with the times and remote play, given the current situation, is a hot market. We will likely see more integrations with mobile phones, either through contactless payments or perhaps in actual gameplay. There are myriad possbilities of how casinos might get into the online gaming space and we are already seeing sports betting take its place on the casino floor. We will likely see that cleaning and sanitizing practices and even wearing PPE will be here for a while. These practices are a benefit to all and will serve as a preventative measure for future outbreaks. These measures also go a long way in securing consumer trust and keep people coming in the doors. Long term, as we have learned to work more efficiently, we’ll likely continue to try to do more with less and make sure we’re prepared for any situation that may present itself in the future, pandemic or otherwise so we can react and adapt.
