Proyecto de hotel cinco estrellas con casino en Rocha


El presidente Luis Lacalle Pou participó de la presentación del proyecto para construir un hotel cinco estrellas con casino y estructuras anexas en la costa atlántica de Rocha, entre La Paloma y Chuy, cerca de la frontera con Brasil. El ministro de Turismo, Germán Cardoso, informó que se había convocado a un llamado internacional para la licitación del casino. En conferencia de prensa, en la sede del Rocha Athletic Club, Cardoso explicó que, luego del trabajo con los equipos técnicos del Ministerio de Turismo, el anuncio es “en territorio y con las fuerzas vivas”, al tratarse de una obra “muy esperada en la costa de Rocha desde hace muchísimos años”. El pliego de la licitación se hará público a través de los sitios web de la Presidencia de la República y del Ministerio de Turismo, con un plazo de 60 días para la recepción de iniciativas a partir de fines de septiembre. Cardoso afirmó que el equipo trabajó intensamente preparando el pliego durante los últimos meses para “dar el definitivo impulso y desarrollo a uno de los lugares más lindos que tiene la costa de Uruguay”. Cardoso añadió que el interesado puede presentarse con un


proyecto geográficamente individualizado con terreno aportado por el propio oferente o proponer alguna tierra perteneciente al Estado o al Gobierno departamental que pueda resultar adecuada para el desarrollo del emprendimiento. El ministro también afirmó que se está haciendo todo lo posible por potenciar la costa oceánica de Rocha. Añadió que, como Gobierno y como Estado, se hizo el mayor de los esfuerzos para la concreción de este megaproyecto y que se espera la presentación de la mayor cantidad posible de oferentes.

Government unveils 5-star hotel casino project in Rocha


President Luis Lacalle Pou took part in the presentation of the project to build a five-star hotel with casino plus other amenities on the Atlantic coast of Rocha, between the locations of La Paloma and Chuy, near the border with Brazil. Minister of Tourism, Germán Cardoso, made the presentation


to a packed audience saying that an international call for the casino’s tender was in place. At a press conference, held at the headquarters of Rocha Athletic Club, Cardoso explained that, after working with the technical teams of the Ministry of Tourism, the announcement is “in a territory full of life”, for a project for too “long awaited on the coast of Rocha”. The tender specifications shall be made public


through the websites of the Presidency of the Republic and the Ministry of Tourism, with a period of 60 days for reception of proposals, beginning at the end of September. Cardoso stated that the team had been working hard over the past few months preparing


the document to “give the maximum impetus for development to one of the most beautiful places on the Atlantic coast of Uruguay”. Cardoso added that interested parties would be able to


present a geographically individualized project with land provided by the party itself or proposing to make use of land belonging to the State or the Departmental Government, which may be suitable for the development of the project. The minister also said that every effort is being made to boost the ocean coast of Rocha, and both Government and State were making the greatest efforts to support the creation of this megaproject, expecting submissions from as many bidders as possible.

Senadores de Mendoza aprueban regulación del juego online


La Cámara Alta de la provincia de Mendoza avaló una propuesta que fue presentada por la senadora Mercedes Rus, a la que se le acumuló otra de su par Marcelo Rubio que busca que se regule la actividad del juego “online” en sus distintas modalidades. El proyecto de ley fue aprobado por 36 votos positivos y uno


negativo por lo que pasó a la Cámara de Diputados en revisión. Durante su tratamiento, la senadora Rus informó que en Secretaría Legislativa se encontraban propuestas de varios sectores políticos, y que el objetivo del proyecto es establecer un marco regulatorio para el juego en la modalidad online.


“Lo importante es el sometimiento del juego online a un sistema de control. Queremos someter a estos operadores a una fiscalización estatal, también a los cánones de certificación que se establecen a nivel internacional”, expresó la senadora Rus.

ARGENTINA Mendoza Senate approves online gambling regulation


The Upper house of the province of Mendoza endorsed a proposal that was presented by Senator Mercedes Rus, who included another proposal by senator Marcelo Rubio, seeking to regulate the online gaming activity in its different modalities. The bill was passed by 36 votes in favour against one vote and


has been sent to the House of Representatives for review. In her exposition, Senator Rus reported that proposals from various political groups were available in the Legislative Secretariat, and that the objective of the project is to establish a regulatory framework for online gaming in the province. “What is important is that the proposal to control online gaming is under way. We want to subject online gaming operators to state control and also to the appropriate certification that is established internationally,” Senator Rus said. She added: “The intension is to know which platforms these services can offer to the Province and also to know who is
