Casinos, o el organismo que en el futuro lo reemplace será la autoridad de aplicación, quien habilitará a personas físicas o jurídicas a organizar, desarrollar, explotar, captar apuestas y comercializar la actividad del juego en línea.

Relevan a titular de Dirección General de Juegos y Sorteos


En un comunicado, la Secretaría de Gobernación informó que, “por motivos personales, Luis Calvo Reyes presentó su renuncia a la Dirección General de Juegos y Sorteos”, con efecto a partir del 16 de septiembre pasado. En su lugar, la secretaria de Gobernación, Olga Sánchez Cordero, ha


designado a Alma Itzel De Lira Castillo que asumirá el cargo a partir de esa fecha, por lo que dejará la Dirección General de Recursos Materiales y Servicios Generales en la Unidad de Administración y Finanzas de la Secretaría de Gobernación que venía desempeñando. El comunicado informa ampliamente sobre la trascendencia académica y profesional de la licenciada De Lira Castillo, “Licenciada en Derecho por la Universidad Latinoamericana y maestra por la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, Alma Itzel De Lira Castillo impartió las materias de Delitos en Particular II y Práctica Forense de Derecho Penal en la Universidad Salesiana México”, etc., y no da cuenta de las razones personales de la salida de Calvo Reyes. Aunque el comunicado de la Segob con el cese de Calvo Reyes, el diario Excelsior informa que se, “puso bajo resguardo su oficina a fin de iniciar una investigación de su gestión”, y de acuerdo con algunas fuentes consultadas, “el funcionario desalojó las instalaciones junto con parte de su equipo de trabajo y personal

MEXICO Abrupt change of regulator


In a blunt statement, the Secretaría de Gobernación (Department of State) said that, for personal reasons, Luis Calvo Reyes had submitted his resignation to Chief of Dirección General de Juegos y Sorteos, Mexico’s gaming regulator, effective September 16 2020. In Calvo Reyes’s place, Department of State chief Olga Sánchez Cordero appointed Alma Itzel De Lira Castillo to take charge of the regulator’s office, leaving another department in the Mexican executive. The statement has an extensive resume of the academic and professional significance of the de Lira Castillo degree, but does not explain Calvo Reyes’s personal reasons for his sudden departure. However, local daily Excelsior reports thar the regulator’s office “was put under guard in order to begin an investigation on his management,” and according to some other sources, “the regulator was evicted from his office along with some members of his team with security personnel preventing him from removing documents from the regulators’ offices.” Calvo Reyes was appointed to the position in June 2019, replacing Juan Gabriel Coutiño López, who
