ENSICO CMS d.o.o.

ENSICO emerges as a force in Casino Management Systems

2018 marks ENSICO’s first showing at ICE with their CMS product. Claudio Zlebnik, CEO, ENSICO CMS d.o.o., spoke with Casino International ahead of their ICE debut. You can find the company at ICE on stand S9-134

C

asino International visited ENSICO’s Ljubljana offices to find out more about this mysterious company. What we found was a company with an interesting history, about to spread its wings under

the ENSICO brand name, and with a mature, proven CMS product that you can now see for the first time at ICE. CEO Claudio Zlebnik spoke to Casino International.

Casino International: What are the ENSICO’s origins? Claudio Zlebnik: Before we became ENSICO, we produced electromechanical roulettes under the name Euroblock. I started in gaming with Interblock,

that was my mother company in the industry and then I established Euroblock. All of our technology and knowledge for that came from Interblock, but our products were the cheaper end of what they were doing.

The name Euroblock came about when I bought a company called Euromat, one of Slovenia’s other electromechanical roulette producers. But the technology was not as good, so we changed most things, from software to hardware; and we signed an agreement with Interblock or (Electroncek as it was then) to supply all the technology for Euroblock roulette. We produced roulettes from 2003, with some

success, and quite a large number of machines. We basically bought the template of how to make our machines, but built and engineered them ourselves.

CI: So what did you actually buy from Euromat, if you changed so much when you bought the company? CZ: We bought stock of 21 roulettes, and all the technology and software and hardware personnel, so about 25 employees. At that time, Interblock were having great success so that’s part of why we did it the way we did, and bring new technology and assembly in.

CI: What markets did you trade in during the early days? CZ: Mostly Europe, and primarily in the Czech Republic.

CI: Why change direction so much and become ENSICO? CZ: We produced the roulettes until about 2008, and then I made a decision to join ENSICO Gaming. I wanted to be more settled, without so much travel at that time; I was away for 350 days a year, so I went to work for a systems company. It’s a huge difference between producing roulettes or slots, and systems.
