…HELLO 2018! Andrew Morgan
International Manager, Independent Content Services
What were the biggest occurrences for you in 2017? We completed our first translation and localization project concerning slots games, which went live over the summer. Since then, we have secured a number of other projects in the online casino sector, and have expanded to cover 11 languages with another pending project set to be done in 26 across Europe and SE Asia. We are also translating content for video
games and see this as an exciting sector to break into, as well as a natural fit for us due to our background in scripting and voicing virtual sports games.
What do you think was the most important occurrence for the industry in 2017? Sadly, the media furore in the UK about the gambling industry, particularly FOBTs, is likely to have a negative impact on the sector in our home market. The same is the case regarding new proposed regulation on bonus offers, which could hit online casino operators hard, not to mention sports betting too. However, this could be offset by the opening up of new markets, with Russia

What were the biggest occurrences for EPG in 2017? We have had several important milestones during the past 12 months, from a technical and a business perspective. Taking technical first, we have migrated 100% to the cloud, with replications of our servers in three continents so that merchants do not experience any latency with their cashiers. According to external consultants, we are the only payment gateway to be fully in the cloud. When it comes to the business, 2017 has been a fast and furious year for Easy Payment Gateway. We are now providing our products and services to more than 100 online gambling operators. We treat all partners equally, but integrating with BetVictor was a major milestone for us, particularly considering some members of our team started their careers with the operator. In addition, we completed a major funding
round and opened our first office in London. All told, it has been a very successful year.
What do you think was the most important occurrence for the industry in 2017? The constant growth of the sector never

and Colombia in particular being of interest in 2017 and moving into 2018.
What are you most excited about for the industry in 2018? I believe there will be a wave of new markets opening up, particularly in South America, while the potential repeal of PASPA in the US could really benefit the casino vertical, not to mention the obvious benefits to the sports betting side of our operation. The legalization of sports betting in the US is going to be a hot topic next year with the NBA now embracing a move towards regulation, and I imagine many land-based casinos would want to get in on the action as they have already done in Nevada. In addition, localization is set to be key next
year and we are in a good position to exploit this, operating as we do in 63 languages and
growth the sector has enjoyed in recent years looks set to increase in the coming 12 months. I’m also interested to see how GDPR will shake out, and the impact of AML4.
What are you most excited about for your company in 2018? We have been hard at work on a new back office, and we are very proud of what we have achieved. It offers more functionality and control for operators, allowing them to quickly and easily customise our gateway. Easy Payment Gateway is all about delivering powerful functionality and a seamless user experience, and our new back office does just that.
ceases to amaze me; it continues to expand at a rapid rate with no signs of slowing down. This, of course, is partly down to companies such as Easy Payment Gateway, as we help to facilitate growth by making it easier for consumers to access online gambling sites, and deposit and withdraw into and from their accounts.
What are you most excited about for the industry in 2018? New markets. With regions such as Asia, Africa and South America all moving towards legalising and regulating online gambling, the
Anything else you’d like to say about the passing of 2017 and 2018’s arrival? It’s been a great year for Easy Payment Gateway; we have delivered triple digit percentage growth, opened new offices in Spain and the UK, and integrated with lots of new operators and suppliers. I’d like to thank the Easy Payment Gateway team, the incredible partners we work with and, of course, the customers we are passionate about serving. Here’s to 2018!
What are you most excited about for your own company in 2018? The football World Cup will be huge for the sports betting arm of the company but the increasing prevalence for gameification, particularly socially, is starting to blur the lines between sportsbook, casino, virtual and DFS, which could open up interesting possibilities. We are expecting increased translation, too, as operators enter new markets and look to tailor content to players in those where they are already live. Tied to this is the opening of the Russian market, which could present further opportunities.
Anything else you’d like to say about the passing of 2017 and 2018’s arrival? Despite fierce regulatory headwinds, our company has strengthened as the year has progressed, moving into a few new areas. We are confident this will increase in 2018. We also believe the wider online gambling industry will continue to go from strength to strength, with huge opportunities for growth and expansion.
