genera 400 empleos en la construcción y además consolida el empleo en la gastronomía y en el comercio”. Durante la presentación del proyecto también se dieron a conocer los
términos de la extensión de la concesión a Crown Casino SA, empresa encargada de llevar adelante el complejo recreativo. El acuerdo incluye la extensión de la concesión para los casinos de El Cóndor, Las Grutas, Choele Choel, Cipolletti, Roca y Catriel. El proyecto presentado por la empresa
comprende la construcción de un hotel de categoría cinco estrellas, un patio de comidas, locales comerciales, un importante casino y un centro de convenciones con capacidad para 500 personas. El Mandatario provincial destacó la
presentación del proyecto y remarcó que para llegar a este punto hubo muchos consensos previos. “La primera gran decisión es de la empresa, por querer continuar con su trabajo en la ciudad y la segunda es de la Municipalidad, por el impacto positivo que genera. Otro aspecto trascendente del proyecto es la inversión para el club Sol de Mayo. Si no existieran este tipo de proyectos, sería muy difícil para la institución poder mejorar su infraestructura por la escasez de recursos”.

ith the uneasy impression that we had been in a similar situation, Brazil’s legislators voting on gambling legislation before Christmas came and went. Indeed, the feeling of
disappointment was confirmed with a sense of deja vu as we had been there before, for the third year running. However, never have senators been so close to getting their bill, PLS 186/2014, with a real chance of going through the voting process at the Constitutional and Justice Commission (CCJ) level. This time, Senate President, Eunício de Oliveira, called the legislators to the Plenary to vote on other more pressing matters. As the CCJ complied with the Senate president
request, voting on Brazil’s gaming legislation was postponed. However, a promise was made that voting on PLS 186/2014 is the first point in the Senate Agenda upon return in 2018. Edgar Lenzi, BetConsult president, said when
voting did not materialize before Christmas: “It is more likely that the vote of PLS 186/2014 by the CCJ of Senate will happen on the first meeting session of 2018, which will be on February 21st”.
