Industry report highlights printing prowess in the UK

anon has celebrated four years of partnership with the British Printing Industries
Federation (BPIF), delivering printed editions of its Printing Outlook report.
This longstanding collaboration reaches a new chapter as the BPIF prepares to unveil a refreshed brand identity. The report showed that in 2025, the UK print industry generated £14bn in turnover, employed 91,000 people across 6,700 companies, and has continued to deliver a positive trade balance, into 2026. The UK is also the 5th largest producer of printed products globally and 2nd in Europe, reinforcing the sector’s continued relevance and resilience. Duncan Smith, country director, Production at Canon UK & Ireland, said: “Our partnership with the BPIF represents a shared commitment to elevating the value and visibility of print in the UK. The BPIF’s refreshed branding
brings new energy to the publication, and we’re proud our technology is helping deliver this evolution.”
Kyle Jardine, BPIF economist, and author of the Printing Outlook report, said: “Canon and BPIF Printing Outlook partnership now enters its fifth year with increased vigour and excitement about the future of the industry, a new determination about the importance of championing research on our dynamic industry, and encouragement that the growing use of data will inform decisions and help the printing sectors develop further.”

William Smith introduces Avery Dennison’s first coloured PPF to the market

illiam Smith has announced it is bringing the first coloured paint protection film from
Avery Dennison to the UK market. Coloured PPF has emerged over the past 12 to 18 months as a growing trend in vehicle customisation. The new Avery Dennison Colour Paint
Protection Film launches with four shades: AD PPF Gloss orange, AD PPF Gloss light blue, AD PPF Gloss carmine red, and AD PPF gloss rock grey. Like standard PPF, it helps protect paintwork from stone chips, road grime, bird droppings, and everyday wear and tear, along with featuring a self-healing top coat, that when exposed to heat, surface scratches can disappear.
