PPDS delivers DOOH advertising to historic German theatre

P

PDS has announced the latest results of its rapidly accelerating DOOH strategy, with the installation of a new 6x2m LED advertising wall at the historic Saarländisches Staatstheater in Southwest Germany. Delivering instant results, this transformative project has helped eliminate paper wastage, boost workplace efficiencies, and increase ticket sales. Opened in 1938, the Saarländisches Staatstheater (Saarland State Theatre) is a cultural landmark in Saarbrücken and hosts around 30 new productions annually, amounting to some 700 events. Seeking a modern, digitised solution, from its previous printed advertising,

the theatre teamed up with local AV/ IT specialists, DOOH Concept and LE-Eventtechnik, with framework from Metallbau Patric Schmidt, to transform its advertising display.

The Philips Urban LED 7000 Series was chosen, due to its 3.9px pitch, high brightness, high contrast ratio and refresh rates, along with being designed for a range of weather conditions. Completed within a strict 10-day window, the new 2x6m Philips Urban LED wall uses a mix of static imagery, animated previews, and video content. Prof. Michael Schulz, general artistic director, Saarländisches Staatstheater, added: “The new digital daily advertising board from Philips enables us to make

the wide ranging programme of the Saarländisches Staatstheater even more visible, reaching out directly to visitors. There has been a significant increase in theatre attendance since installing our new LED wall.”

ESL Group uses Drytac Polar Grip for Bath-based project E

SL Group has used Drytac’s Polar Grip and Interlam Pro Emerytex to produce a series of colourful floor graphics as part of a campaign to help protect rivers in Bath.

Working in partnership with SouthGate Bath and Bath and North East Somerset Council, they have aimed to engage a broad audience, highlighting the importance of reducing pollution and protecting natural resources.

The graphics needed to attract attention while also withstanding heavy foot traffic and outdoor conditions.

ESL selected Polar Grip, a polymeric Mégarex bowling experience

The material was paired with Interlam Pro Emerytex, a pressure-sensitive overlaminate that provides added protection and slip resistance, creating a safe and durable solution for public spaces. All graphics were printed in-house using an Epson SureColor S30600 eco-solvent printer, ensuring consistent quality and efficient turnaround.

The colourful graphics were produced for a Bath-based campaign

self-adhesive PVC film designed for long-term durability and high bond strength across a range of surfaces.

Andy Jay, owner of ESL, said: “We used these materials because the base vinyl needed to have a high bond adhesive. The graphics had to perform externally and bridge across cement lines between paving slabs in a high footfall area.”

INFiLED MV Series LED wall transforms Mégarex bowling experience

NFiLED has completed a project for leisure complex Mégarex, in the north of France’s Strasbourg region. Seeking to refresh the bowling experience, Mégarex set out to create a more dynamic and visually immersive environment.

To achieve this, the venue partnered with Lyon-based cinema equipment integrator ADDE, to install a striking

Eric Le Cadre, sales director for ADDE, said: “The client wanted to ensure that they had a flexible space where the atmosphere could switch depending on the time of day or type of event. “And since they wanted this space to be a long-term marketing and branding tool, they needed the bowling alley to look visually striking every day for at least the next decade.” Structural planning was essential,

particularly in an environment where vibration and potential impact are constant considerations, but at the same time installation had to remain quick. Working alongside the local INFiLED team and the Mégarex staff, ADDE completed the installation in just three days. The display uses INFiLED’s MV Series LED panels, which feature a durable aluminium frame that offers greater structural stability than traditional magnesium designs, helping the system withstand the vibrations typical of high-traffic leisure spaces.
