News Brigantia acquired by Elovade

BRIGANTIA has been acquired by pan-European distributor the Elovade Group (Elovade), formerly Ebertlang. The move represents Elovade’s eighth and most significant acquisition, complementing its presence in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Nordics and Italy. It is also the Group’s first entry into the UK market. Brigantia’s managing director, Angus

Shaw, will formally assume the role of managing director for the UK and Irish business, retaining control of operations in the region. Founder Iain Shaw and chairman Martin Wright will exit the business, and the company will initially continue to run under the Brigantia name, retaining its existing vendor portfolio. Philip Weber, CEO of Elovade, said: “Expanding into the UK was of great strategic importance to us, and from the initial discussions with Brigantia’s management, it was clear that our strategies, visions and corporate cultures aligned perfectly. Their deep technical understanding, clear value-added focus on IT security and managed services, and corporate culture harmonising with ours make Brigantia the perfect counterpart to Elovade in the United Kingdom. We look forward to accelerating our growth on both sides of the English Channel.”

Angus Shaw said:

“We’re delighted to be joining Elovade, a hugely successful business with a commitment to excellence. We see a great cultural fit, and this acquisition is an emphatic vindication of the strength of Brigantia and what we have achieved over many years. The basis

of our success has been a relentless focus on adding value for partners through the quality of our portfolio, the knowledge of our team and the strength of our relationships. Nothing changes on that front.

“Our partners can expect the same commitment from the same team and look forward to exciting new opportunities, expertise and avenues to explore as a result of joining the Elovade family. The potential introduction of Elovade Cloud Services in the UK is a particularly exciting opportunity for partners in the future. I look forward to our continued successes and the new opportunities we will share together.” Iain Shaw said: “This is brilliant for Brigantia. Our success is rooted in our values – values that Elovade shares. While I will miss this chapter, I take great satisfaction and pride in leaving the business in such a strong position. It has been an incredible journey, and I wish to thank all the colleagues and partners who have contributed.”

VIP and j5create are wired for success

VIP COMPUTERS has been named the official UK distributor for j5create, a global leader in connectivity solutions. The partnership is expected to broaden VIP’s product portfolio, introducing new categories such as cables, chargers, monitor arms, and laptop stands, alongside an expanded selection of docking stations and web cameras. J5create has established itself as a market leader, ranking first in the US for docking stations for the second consecutive year and second for cables. The company’s products are recognised for high build quality, low return rates, and strong profit margins.

Chuck Akins, senior vice president of global sales at j5create, echoed the enthusiasm: “This partnership will allow us to reach more customers with our premium offerings than ever before. The thriving UK IT industry is an attractive market for us, and VIP Computers’ expertise and reputation as a premium distributor make them the ideal partner.”

The collaboration comes ahead of the B2B peak season, providing VIP’s resellers with an expanded range of products to meet increasing demand.

Elevate Wholesale launches Women in

Channel community ELEVATE WHOLESALE, the ground- to-cloud wholesale partner to the UK channel, will launch its Women in Channel community on Thursday 19 June at Balfour Winery in Kent. This initiative was created specifically for women working within the telecoms reseller channel. However, it is also open to individuals from wholesale partners, resellers, suppliers, and other women who engage with the channel. Teigan Kemp, partner account manager at Elevate Wholesale, said: “We know that there are certain trials and tribulations that come with working in such a traditionally male- dominated sector. And we also know that, together, we can move our industry forward in a way that gives more women more opportunities to succeed.” According to the National Foundation for Educational Research (NFER), women comprise less than one-fifth of the nation’s telecoms workforce. So few women in the industry means there are fewer mentors and role models to inspire and support other women, creating a cycle of underrepresentation. This is the tide Elevate Wholesale is hoping to turn with the new initiative, directly connecting women in the channel to share experiences, mentor, support, and generate business opportunities. Emmeline Spann, partner account manager at Elevate Wholesale, said: “I’ve spent nearly nine years working in a predominantly male industry, and I’m very proud of the impact I’ve made. Women make our channel offer and our wider business a success every day, and seeing this first hand has made me very passionate about proactively ensuring women that want to work in telecoms – and in the channel specifically – get the resources they need.” The inaugural Women in the Channel event is free to attend, but you must register your interest at http://bit.ly/43nqCRd
