OXFORD Products has been celebrating its “best-ever” start to a year, having posted record numbers for the first six months of 2024. The company’s managing director Henry Rivers Fletcher explains how the company’s successes in 2024 are more than just sales-related.

Mercian Cycles saved following acquisition by Derby-based group


THE future of Mercian Cycles has been secured after it was acquired by a team of four passionate cyclists from Derby. In May, it was announced that the nearly 80-year-old brand had ceased trading and entered voluntary liquidation.

Woom expands into UK market


CHILDREN’S bike brand Woom has announced its expansion to the UK. Founded in 2013 by two cycling-enthusiastic fathers Christian Bezdeka and Marcus Ihlenfeld in a garage in Vienna, Woom has risen to become a market leader and is now available in 30 countries.


Paul Fattinger, CEO of Woom, said: “As a brand built on personal experience, we strive to set the new standards for premium children’s bikes in the UK, and we’ll be working with our retail partners to get the word out there.” The brand will be distributed by The Little Bike Company and sold direct-to-consumer online. 

BikePark Wales extends lease for 33 years


BIKEPARK Wales and Natural Resources Wales (NRW) have announced plans to transform 400 acres of Welsh mountainside. NRW, which manages


the Welsh Government Woodland Estate, has worked with BikePark Wales since its first trail in 2013, but this new 33-year lease is described as an “unprecedented step forward” for both parties. Revenue from visiting mountain bikers will be invested in a


Future Forest Vision that will see the vast majority of BikePark Wales’ mountain return to its natural state. The new agreement also adds planning permission for new trails, a bigger visitor area and sustainable accommodation. 
